the car is now done(for now), I just took it to the track here in the natural state. Of course there are no 1/4 mile tracks, but 1000 ft is the next best thing. The car went 11.50 @ 91 MPH, which should be good for a mid to high 13 second 1/4. Next year will bring more mods for the motor/drivetrain. Future plans are, a blow-thru turbo set-up, and higher stall converter.

car has the following mods:

1981 camaro Z28 subframe, rearend, brake system with drilled/slotted rotors, stainless steele brake hoses. 3.73 posi rearend, all new everything on the chassis, including drop spindles. The motor is a late-model LT-1, rebuilt by myself. It has new GM aluminum heads, LT-4 hotcam, GM performance products carb manifold, BTE 1.6 roller rockers, roller lifters, 10.5:1 compression, etc....Tranny is a 700R4 with a corvette stall, servo, governor and shift-kit. The body has been blasted down to the bare metal and modified a little, the rear fenders have been welded on and smoothed in, the beltline bodyline has been filled, all 87lbs of chrome has been removed. New firewall fabricated, as well as a new dash panel, filled cowl vent, wiper mounts, etc. The steering column is from a chevy van, with automatic overdrive shift lever. All new wiring, gauges, heat and air, everything is new or rebuilt on this car.

just returned from the track.....yeah, its fast

here are a couple shots from along the way

the day we brought it home

after pulling the chassis out from under it

old front suspension cut-off, Z/28 sub ready to weld on, power disc brakes, quick ratio power steering, and chevy motor/tranny mounts

welding the sub on.....

notched the subframe for a/c compressor clearance

new firewall welded in....

dad's little helper, Rock and Roll........

sittin' on 20's.....changed my mind, maybe will try again later. I thought I would have clearance problems on the front, after I put the drop spindles on.

the car getting soda-blasted, by a portable service

ready to be sanded

putting the body back on the frame....

trunk completed, fuel cell, spare covered, raised/leveled floor, speaker box and amplifier hidded behind DeSoto emblem

here is a small burnout we did, in front of the house. I thought the wife would be mad, she laughed and said, cool!
