Well i got this car about 4 months ago the interior is ugly as hell.Believe it or not this car will move with ease...i got pulled over for the first time...didnt get a ticket was going about 20 MPH over the speed limit according to the cop and i didn't know it.I wasnt even on the pedel that much.He was nice..and let me go.THANKS BUDDY!!Lol.70-75 MPH in a 55.He surely was looking for something that I didn't have. They body is actually in perfect condition besides the shitty 500.00 paint job the previous owner had done.It actually looks like someone took a few cans of wal mart spray paint and painted it.I guess the person got into a hurry because you can tell where the car was never sanded good enough before the paint and primer went on.Theres runs all over..dont worry im going to repaint it for half the price and have it done 10 times better. It's got a 301 2 bbl carb over 300,000 miles on the motor..i think...might just be over 200,000 but still runs like its brand new..runs really quiet.I have a sticker in the window of the car that said it was at 286,000 miles and that was back in 2001.As of now it reads only 9000 miles obviously its tripped. So who knows. If the 301 fails me which that doesn't seem like it's going to anytime soon..well atleast i hope it doesn't. If it does, im just going to drop a 350 in it.It's really not that cold natured couple pumps and its running.Everything is original except for the tires, wheels.steering column, and stereo.I just recently replaced the wheel bearings in the front..couldn't figure out why the rotors kept coming loose...well the rotors happened to be a tad bit different the same exact size rotor just not for my car.So that made the wheel bearings be the wrong wheel bearings obviously. There was a terrible clicking noise and the steering wheel shook like crazy.I jacked the car up and the wheels could move atleast an in. inward and outward.Thats not good.Tackled that problem and now on to the next.New tie rod ends.Might as well just throw a whole new front end underneath the car.Yeah right my broke ass aint going to do that.We take it one step at a time around here when it comes to fixing cars...fix it only if it needs to be fixed.Hopefully with in the next few months Im going to have a maroon and silver paint job.Paint it into like a wide V.Silver filling the inside of the V and on the outside maroon.Ill post pictures of the whole wonderful process of sanding filling and primering and painting when me and a good friend DAWG get started. Thanks to him i've gotten somewhere with this car it may not look like it but he hooked me up when he found this car.

Ok these wheels are shit i know. The ones in the rear are cregors 15X10 and the ones in the front are buick ralley wheels 15X7 the first person to give me $20.00 for all of them can have them no shit!!!!!!So get at me if you want them for something just get them the hell away from me.knunnally's 1978 Pontiac Catalina

235/75/15 on the rear.If you look you can see the flaws that were created. Not my doings.
knunnally's 1978 Pontiac CatalinaThe Great 301!!!As you can see there is a new alternator on the car and the AC unit has been stripped off..who needs it if it doesn't even work its just extra weight.Chrome dress still to come!!!

knunnally's 1978 Pontiac CatalinaWell the front seat is in really good condition compared to others i've seen.
knunnally's 1978 Pontiac CatalinaThe back seat is in really good shape i think...you all can be the judge of that.

The wood grain look looks good yes its plastic...i guess thats what you can call it..Yes i have a green steering wheel it came out of a caprice but it does match if you look close on the steering wheel. You will see the wood grain look. The clock doesn't work and I don't have any dash lights.Im really not to worried about that because if you can drive you can tell the speed of your car with out checking the speedometer.Look in the passenger side floor....the carpet was ripped out because of the previous owner.Hardly any lights worked on the car when i got it because alot of wires where cut and ripped out.He didn't have a clue to what he was doing.First he started off with no high beems then when he finished he didnt have any turn signals or brake lights or head lights that would turn on like they were suppose to.An hour fix putting in the other steering column and its like magic everything worked again.I wonder why??Well the place where everything plugs into the steering column at was fried and this mexican tears up all these wires for nothing.I Had to do alot of work trying to find all the wires just to get some music. It was a complete mess.

I have a chance to buy a 1978 4 door baby blue with a dark blue vinal top with 65,000 miles on it. Perfict interior exterior on a scale of 1 to 10 probably a 9. Origional hub caps. This was owned by a 68 year old lady and garaged. Do you have any idea what it might be worth? It's a smaller engine I'm sure, but I haven't looked that close. My phone # is 1-435-619-3493. Call me and I will call you back so you won't have to pay for the call. Also my E-Mail is utahrealtor@hotmail.com Put Catilina Car on your subject so I will pick it up. Please let me know. Thanks, Scott

Thanks for the comments about Kool Kat. I just recently found out that the Starchief still existed in 66. My first car was a 61 Starchief 4dr Sedan, it was white with red interior and we called it Moby Dick, the great White whale. LOL
Now, about your choice of colors? NIX the black, please don't get me wrong, there isn't a prettier car on the road than black, but after owning one, we swore NEVER again. They are awfull in the summertime, impossible to keep clean in the winter, and it shows dust like you would not believe!!! What color is the interior? If it is grey, I vote silver, quick silver, it is a great color for a big car, and not nearly as hard to keep clean. The color is light so it just makes the car look THAT much bigger. The idea here is to keep it light and keep it bright, you won't go wrong. Just my Opinion.
