that2nddeafguy's 1991 Jeep Comanche

This is my first automobile ever, I picked her up a few weeks ago for $1,700, not a bad steal. Its a 1991 Jeep Comanche, I named her Belle because it seem to fit with the movie Beauty and the Beast... Shes got an inline 6 engine, 5 spd tranny, and original miles... at 119 thou right now. Sad thing is, shes a 2x4... but dont fret (read about this down below...). She is a work in progress. As far as I know, it is MAINLY stock with some aftermarket lifts. Best guess it was lifted about 4 inches, i cant tell... I know the stock non-lifted comanche tops rest between my chin and my nose, but this tops off at the top of my head, and I'm 6'.5"... Anyway, she runs like champ and came with a canopy (seen in pic). Below are plans or works already in progress, thanks for checkin out my page and feel free to give me some ideas, etc.

PLANS...
As of right now, I need to get a new windsheild, new rear sliding window, new gasket or window itself for the flip-up roof... Need new tires (31x10.50x15 BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO) A full fluid flush, entire inspection and analasis of the body and components, a good cleaning ***already did that, but what the hey, its just gonna get dirty again... dont wanna anger the Dirt Gods***.... The engine recently got a Zoom Fuel System Cleaner at my work (sears) and all i can say is, WOW... this stuff really works, i highly recommend it... It improves your acelleration, fuel economy (i get at least 5-8 mpg better now, averaging 22mpg).

FUN PLANS FOR LATER
lATER ON.... i will find a junkyard cherokee of the same year and use that as parts and a 4x4 swap... Ive heard it is relatively easy if the same year is found... Well, i plan to do that, get the same year cherokee and keep the jeep itself for parts in case i have an OOPSIE offroad... I need the front axle, transfer case and possibly a different drive train, not sure yet. I do want to beef up the rear axle with a dana 35 or 44 curry... again, not sure yet. I want a magnaflow exhaust and some kind of intake system.

RIGHT NOW
All ive done to Belle is gave her a good cleaning, fuel system cleaner, put my Dual CD player in it (plans coming up for two 12 inch JVC subs and a few tweeters in the back). I've already painted the hood black and tagged Belle's name on it. When i got it, it was brown... not a good color on Belle, so i treated it, primed it, and painted it charcoal black. Came out pretty good and got quite a few compliments from friends, they want me to do the same (great...) Took off her canopy as i couldnt see too well with the top on and the side mirrors being broken...

tore off the front end to fix the left front fender. someone before me somehow damaged it and the way it was, my front tires would stick out about 5 inches spraying water over the window and etc. even had a cop pull me over saying my tires are too wide (b.s...) fixed that.

had quite a bit of snow this year, this was taken about 2 hours AFTER the snowstorm started when i was at work... longest drive home, esp when a cop was following me (ha...)

1st stuck!!! took me about 9 hours to get her out... no thanks to the gearheads who helped and said theyll be back with a winch... had to get her out myself and some other buddies with a winch strap, 70 ft worth of chains... and yeah!

Hey yes this is a response to your comment on the newer cherokee front end. if you can find a junked one thats the best way to do it, grab the whole header panel, grill, signals, fenders(if they are any good) & bumper if it has one. its quite easy to mount, the top plate is the exact same with the hood latch so that isnt a problem, you'll have to make a mount on the bottom of the header panel, i put 1/2" threaded rod through the panel and through the front of the fender. the new bumper is a nice peice too, it takes minimal fab work to get it on there, i had to make 2 little brackets in the front but that was it. good luck, post pics when your done.
