air4ce's 1969 Chrysler Newport

This baby had - and I am not making this up - 11,200 miles on it when I purchased it in Binghamton, New York in October of 2006. It had been owned for almost it's entire life by a spinster in New York named Rosalie Fusco. I don't know where she drove it, but it was not far.

It was an eBay special. The hauling company wanted $3,000 to ship it to Edmonton (hey, it's nearly 19 feet long), so I had it checked out and it was pronounced in A-OK condition. The only problem was that it still had the original 1969 tires on it! I replaced them with new Firestone whitewalls, and drove it 3,000 miles back to Edmonton. It ran like a champ the whole way.

This car was clearly never smoked in, and as you can tell from the photos it looks like the day it rolled off the line. What a find!

Look at that upholstery. No rips, tears, seam splits or cigarette holes. It is green, but hey, you can't have it all.

You could sleep in that back seat with room to spare.
This car is 100% stock. No A/C, drum brakes all around...stone age technology at it's zenith!

My Dad bought his 1969 Newport new. Our family car before that was a 1967 VW Squareback. LMAO, can you imagine how we felt, getting out of a VW and into that beautiful Newport? He kept it for several years and in the late 70's, he sold it to a relative. It was in almost immaculate condition when he sold it. A couple years later, it was a POS. A crying shame...I wish I had it today.
