How the Orion came to be mine
This Orion started out life belonging to one of my best mates, this car went all the way to Silverstone and back. My mate then sold her to a bloke who didn't know how to look after her.
He ended up snapping the hand brake cable and he drove her around with no oil in the engine, but she still carried on going. Just goes to show that old Ford's never die easy. She was then passed on to another of my mates; who then sold her. The new owner wanted my mk.5 Orion 1600i that I owned at the time, so we came to an agreement and I traded my Orion for his; along with some cash.

When I started working on her; I realised that there was no oil and the radiator coolant bottle had a split in it, so there was actually no water running through the engine. I was surprised that the head gasket hadn't blown; considering she had been driven around for ages like this.
I then started removing the bumpers and the side skirts that she had on her at the time; and removed all the rust that was located around the front; back and sides.
I then recieved my old mk.5 back; as the owner had crashed her into a curb and bent the wish bone, and dented the driver's side wing into the door, so I had her back and stripped her of the parts that I needed (not for this car though, just as spares for another). The only thing I kept for the mk.4 project was the front bumper; which I modified to fit.
I re-sprayed the whole of the body kit; and fitted it all on.

Then sadly; the bottom end went. She was banging quite a bit, so I came to the decision to just get rid of her. I; of course, regret this now. As I now realise that if I had kept her, I could have replaced the engine with the engine out of my previous mk.4 Orion I owned.
Rest in peace mk.4 Orion.
