This is my 1994 Eagle Summit ES (4g15) Automatic. I bought this car as a second car for my wife to use from time to time. I also bought it because it because it was the same year and color as my other 1994 Eagle Summit ES. This one is an automatic where as my other one is a 5-spd. My plans for this car were to drive it for a while then part it out, saving any good parts for my other car. The only mods that were done was replacing the worn out rubber and stock steel wheels. I replaced them with a set of wheels from a 1980's Audi. The wheels had been painted white and had previously been on my other Summit. This is how it looked when I bought it, the only changes being the wheels.

The first changes were to paint the wheels a gun-metal grey color.

With the wheels changed the nexe thing to do was to get rid of some of the rust. I knew it would be very hard to color match the paint perfectly and I did not want to paint the entire panel. I decided to try and get a very close color match and create a ghosted or phantom flame sort of design. I also removed the amber reflectors from inside the rear tail lights.

I am in no way a bodyman but if I can improve the look, even for just a little while then I will give it a try. The first thing I did was to remove all traces of rust. I cut away the rot with an angle grinder and cut off wheel. I made a new lip witha piece of aluminum angle cut every half inch. I then formed the shape by bending it and using the rear fender of my other summit as a guide/form. I then pop-riveted it in place.

Then after some body filler and scratch putty I started experimenting with a design.

Final step was to paint and clear-coat, I tried blending the clear and wet sanded it smooth.

The next changes were a drop-in K&N air filter. Removal of previous vinyl and a DTM style twin tip muffler.

For the winter I used the stock steel wheels with stainless steel trim rings. The rubber tire were Michelin Arctic Alpin winter tires.

When the rubber got to low on the audi wheels, I swithed to a set of 13 inch Honda Prelude wheels that I picked up as a set of 5 with BFGoodrich Control TA's. I painted them bronze with a silver lip.

Here is what it looked like with the Prelude wheels.

And here is what it looks like now. The only thing left to do is to pull the motor than get rid of the shell.
