This is the SLK 230 AMG Kompressor`Supercharged`version with a few special edition mods.I acquired the grill from DJH-Chromline Products Ltd Germany and the walnut woodtrim kit from http://www.exoticwoodtrim.com USA all adding a bit of class to an already classy sportscar.Note the AMG under bumper sills and smooth bumper.The colour of this SLK is Linarite blue which is mettalic. ..


In my model I have the anthracite full leather trim and black SLK overmats and to enhance that I have fitted the full walnut wood trims which brings out the best in the interior with the cream instrument dials and I feel is traditional in sportscars not all this toffee sweet wraper stuff you see in a lot of cars today.I also fitted the small polished s/s adjustment knobs from DHL to the speedo dials and the pullup door locks.


The rear of the SLK is as pretty as the front you can see the AMG under bumper sill and smooth bumper that is fitted to the AMG and I have added a chrome boot [ trunk ] handle from DHL to enhance the rear note the twin AMG exhaust system fitted .The neat lines and vario hardtop can be seen clearly here.


In these pics you can see the lovely lines with the vario hardtop down and it shows how neatly it tucks away. From all angles it looks great.Note the AMG side sills with the design grooves in leading thru the rear wheel arch to the rear bumper.In these pics you can see the rear draught excluder up which can be easily folded and tucked away if not wanted.The AMG alloy wheels on this car have just been refurbished so you can eat your dinner off the rim insides they are so clean.


The engine is a supercharged 2.3 Litre 4cylinder which can reach 60MPH in approx 7 secs and a top speed of approx 145MPH and still return approx 30MPG not bad for a supercharged sportscar.Its fast enough for what most sensible drivers on the road want to do with it.The engine is so clean and thats the way I like to keep it.I have red calipers all round with the AMG badges on them a style thing more than anything else.All this enhances the Linarite mettalic blue coachwork


Well in these pics you can see my lineup all drive very different to each other and have their good and bad points.I love the drive of my Rolls if I`m just cruising and love my SL with the top down and with the hardtop on it has the solid feel of the Mercedes Saloon and is as quite. The SLK is a different machine its lighter lively modern and cheap to run but best of all is the vario hardtop which just folds away when you want it to and is so easy to do and this is the main thing my wife likes about the car and that the doors are not too heavy to open or close.


Well there not much more I can say about this lovely car I have had a Porsche Boxster so know what they are all about and loved that car great performace and roadholding too but think the SLK car has the `everyday use` edge with the vario hardtop that folds away so neatly.The one good thing I have noticed is all softops within months get creases and wear marks where they fold down and when up can make an immaculate car look scruffy well you will never have that problem with the SLK.She even looks good on the open English Countryside roads..
Small Note; Mercs are not one of the first with this design of hardtop take a look at the 50`s Ford Sundowners so its not a new thing you would have thought manufacturers would have been using them for years but lets not complain they are now with us in a big way and getting bigger.........Bye..........Terry

This car is now sold and is in South East England somewhere easy to reconise by the grill not many if any around with this upmarket grill and woodtrim effect inside in the UK .
