Hey you car fans. I have bought this 1989 Opel Kadett for R7500. I am not happy with the look of my baby. The colour is bad and the interior looks horrible. I always told myself that i want to buy a car that I am satisfied with, but im not with my baby. Can some1 please help me to build up my car to my satisfaction. I have no ideas. I can only dream

For the interior, for a fresh "Newer" look (that's not expensive)try some Vinyl / fabric paint (I'm using a nice black). it will bring back life to the interior, be sure to clean it well first and make any repairs necessary before painting. for the exterior, choose a body kit, if you are going to use one, try taking off the nasty side stripping, filling it in and smoothing out with Bondo. Sand down the whole car, paint it yourself. Just need an air compressor, an airbrush and the paint. prep work just includes sanding down the whole car, removing all the rust spots so they don't return (yes that means don't leave any red, take all spots to bare metal, otherwise it will oxidize under the paint and bubble within a few months.) For your base coat use a rust paint. I know trim clad to work really well. this will help prevent further rusting. after the rust treatment dries you can begin painting, if your going with two colors such as purple and black, paint your whole car purple (2 - 3 coats, you can begin the second and or third coats when the other coat is tacky), let it dry, tape off the sections you want to stay purple, use paper to cover the purple parts and protect form over spray, then paint the rest of the car black. when finished do a cpl rounds of clear coat and then wax. it's exactly how the professionals do it and charge you thousands of $$. depending on the paint you use, this will cost about 200$, if you don't have an air compressor, borrow one, the airbrush is only about 30$. take a week off and do it up, its a fun little project.
