You will need all this...

Hightemp paint (I bought a brush on kit from AutoBarn, made by Folia Tec. Came with paint, and brake cleaner).
Fine hair brushes
Wire brush
Brake cleaner
2 Jack stands
1 Floor jack
2 Wheel ramps
Hairdryer (not needed but will help speed things up alot)

First make sure you have the parking brake applied and try not to park on an incline. If your doing the front calipers, make sure the front of the car is facing away from the incline, and put wheel ramps behind the rear wheels as an extra precaution. Now jack the front up and put it on jackstands. Remove the wheels and start spraying them down with brake cleaner. I use CRC Brake Kleen, dont get the one in the green can. Now use the wire brush to scrape away thhe rust and brake dust. I sanded the calipers the night before on the real rusty parts. I would recommend wearing a mask as alot of dust gets kicked up from the brush. When you are done scrubbing with the brush, spray it again with brake cleaner. Now i choose a brush on paint because i did not want to have to disassemble anything. You can get away with spraying with everything assembled, but you need to do alot of masking which i really didnt feel like doing. Start painting the caliper, once you are done start painting the opposite side. When you are done, apply a 2nd coat to both sides. Now run the hairdryer over the calipers for maybe 5-10 minutes or until the paint isnt too tacky anymore and put the wheels back on. I would recommend not driving the car for atleast 2 hours, but if you must i would take it real easy on braking so you dont heat everything up, possibly damaging the paint while its still drying.

Wow , You are really into that Porsche!! That's cool. I bought my 924 S 14 years ago for $4500, I think they are still going for that again. I also love mine, it is very good shape, runs very well , has about 140,000 miles on it. I plan to buy a Jaguar XK8 in the spring. I have always wanted a convertable(again). I bought a 1968 XKE 2 2 back in 1972 or so , for $3000 !! I think they go for anyehere from 30,000 to 60,000 now . If only I had not wrapped it around a tree! I ran across your page because I have been looking for a pass. side front fender for my Porsche, not having any luck. If you could help with that , it would be great , otherwise feel free to share any time... Dave

Before you buy a Turbo, I suggest you try an 88 924S Club Sport with M030 suspension and 5 speed. That car is a lot lighter than a stock 924S and has 160 hp. It is simpler and cheaper to maintain than the Turbo. I am running 6" telephone dials in front and 7" ones in rear with 215/60 X 15 V-rated Yokohama ES100. The car is a blast, especially in turns.

I read that you're thinking about getting white guage faces...check out speedhut.com. You can customize your own dash. It's pretty sweet!!
