This is my baby:

ccpitcher09's 1986 Porsche 928

I found this beauty on autotrader.com in Poteet, TX. It has a 5.0 V8 (302cid) and a 5-Speed manual transaxle (very rare). I paid $4,000 and trailered it back to Michigan. There are 91,000 miles on the odometer which ceases to work. This car originated in Arizona, and there are 3 known previous owners. None of them had the $$ or the technical knowhow to put any TLC in this car. Between me, my dad (mechanical/electrical engineer), and friend Norm Roxas (engineering student) this should be eeeeasy (yeah right).

On the trailer in Texas. It was worth the 23 hour drive.

It's missing the front spoiler and the entire car has been repainted except for the roof.

I removed the baked-on purple window tint, replaced the rear shocks, replaced numerous fuses and relays, changed out the plugs and wires, cleaned and softened the leather interior, clay bar and waxed the exterior (it was orange from the Texas sun, now it's the original Guards Red), disconnected power steering (to be fixed later), replaced the passenger window motor, replaced side marker lamp bulbs, installed 7" Diamond headlights, replaced alternator belt, alternator cover, and cleaned it (this gave me 2 more volts), added 2 new exhaust hangers, painted muffler and tips gloss black, polished chrome wheels, painted interior panel screws, replaced fuel filter, fixed numerous vacuum leaks, straightened the hood, made new black leather shift boot, installed alloy Porsche shift knob, installed new Blaupunkt sound system, and the list goes on............

Porsche vs. Cop
I got pulled over the first day I drove it. The cop couldn't see the temporary plate and thought it was stolen. Picture compliments of Norm. How many of you have a pic of yourself getting pulled over?

Man I looked for a 928 in a 5-speed for so long how did you find that. I was going to buy one but I hate automatics so I wen't with a 944 and put a V8 in it now im very happy with the results not cheap though realy NOT CHEAP.

I love the pictures they sort of take us with you through your journey of getting and repairing this car. I hope you have a lot of fun and great memories with your 928! Go smoke the rice rockets.

Nice "8-baller"! Love that shot of ya gettin pulled over!!! Get used to it. I've got an '83' 928S that I've held on to for years. They are alot of work, but the turnaround satisfaction is sooooo sweet!
