In 1970 and 1971 the Oldsmobile Cutlass was available with a special option called the Y-79 Performance Package and the car was named the Cutlass Supreme SX. The SX is an Olds 4-4-2 in a Cutlass Supreme body. The SX featured several 4-4-2 similarities including: 455ci engine options, a 400 Turbo Hydra-matic transmission, a cut out rear bumper showcasing the dual exhaust, and other goodies not found on a standard Cutlass Supreme. Sophisticated styling, luxury options and great performance create the ultimate gentleman's muscle car!
The Cutlass Supreme SX is certainly the "undiscovered" GM muscle car. The production numbers for this two-year-only (1970 & 1971) model are less than half of the highly collectable Olds 4-4-2. Plus many of the SX cars were sent to the junk yard crusher before the rarity of the car became known.
The car has 59,000 ORIGINAL miles! I got it from the original owners son. (It was his mothers car...no joke!)
