*UPDATE* Just did a rear disc conversion using 91 CRX Si parts this July, Wow it looks and stops soo much better. If anyone knows which E-brake cable should be used don't hesitate to tell me PLEASE!
This car was a slow build, but near the end here it's been picking up much speed. Here's a brief on it sofar. On the exterior i've got a Wings West Agressor front bumper and side skirts, A TCS rear bumper, A Vis G-Force Carbon Fiber hood and Carbon Fiber Targa top. GT Carbon fiber trunk AND rear garnish to match. Being that i'm a Carbon Fiber slut (Iv'e even got the Integra type R CF shift knob, corny i know, but it's appropriate), I also got my hands on a very rare set of 18" x 7.5" CF rims made by, now extinct company, 01 Design Systems. I have the GT lambo door kit, but i'm waiting to get the body work done before I start pulling off my fenders. Under the large scoop in my hood is the pride of all that is JDM. A FULL JDM B18C-R engine, tranny with LSD, and computer swap is the heart of my power. The Integra Type R engine although powerful, just wasn't enough. So I opted for LHT Performance to equip my car with their sick 400 series turbo kit. I'll go into details on that later. When the clutch pedal is popped, the ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate pushes the ACT Performance Street Disc clutch(rated to 243ft/lbs) against the XACT Prolite 8.8lbs flywheel with lightning speed. Ensuring the power doesn't rattle the car apart while the Stage 2 Gator Axles are launching it forward, is a set of shiny Hasport motor mounts. So the car performs as good on the track as it does on the streets, I've installed Tokico's 5 way adjustable Illumina Series Advanced Handling Suspension Kit, along with 4 strut bars for upper and lower application. What good is power without traction right? Dunlop SP sport 9090's help keep excess tire spin to a minimum at the tree. As for the loudmaker, I'm dropping a Tanabe Racing medallion exhaust for the custom work of LHT performance (as pictured). Not only will it be a little quieter (108dB is louder than you think!), but the true 3" piping sounds just as agressive and is more eye catching. Keeping the temps cool is a Fluidyne racing radiator and Spal 13" 870 CFM fan. The turbo Kit is all inclusive and comes with the 400 Turbo from LHT, Presicion 880CC injectors, 255lph High Pressure Walbrough fuel pump, Tial Wastegate, Greddy Type RS BOV, LHT polished catch can and radiator mount, and Custom exhaust manifold with 3" downpipe. Computer work is done by the infamous Hondata S300 setup with a Greddy Profec B Spec II for pre-race, in cabin tuning. Because spark is soo important, I went with the NKG plug wires and Bosch Platinum +4 plugs for reliability. To make sure intake temperatures are cool, a front mount Presicion Intercooler uses speed and wind to keep charged air cool. All additional hoses are steel braided and piping has bead rolled edges for long term reliability. For feedback, the Boost and water temp gauges are both autometer and sit in a 2 pod pillar. A Greddy Turbo Timer makes sure the turbo doesn't suffer from cookoff after a long hard ride for added longevity.
This car is a long time planned build, and makes 298 WHP and 200 LB-FT on only 8.5 psi and pump gas. Not so impressed? Let me assure you, this is a completely stock engine aside from the turbo kit. It even retains a face freezing A/C. NO INTERNAL WORK DONE, and still maintains an 11 to 1 compression ratio and 8,900 RPM redline. Here are a few more numbers for you.
This beast is pushing 8 pounds for every 1 horsepower, just for comparison, every horsepower a WRX STI has, must push 11 pounds of car. Just ponder that for a minute while you glance at these pics.
Those painful looking pictures are of an accident that happened to my first Type R engine on the highway at about 12,000 RPM's. A simple 5th-2nd gear mistake cost me thousands of dollars in replacement work and almost 6 months of saving up for another engine. Due to persistance and an addiction I cannot explain, i'm back on my feet and 3 times faster and more powerful than my 103(crank)HP stock engine. Thanks for stopping by, and please keep checking up, this build is far from over!
Comming up in the next few weeks is a......
