I bought my 1990 Roadster in August 2006 without service history. It was in quite a sorry state and I have restored and added personal touches since then.
How it looks now:
First I had a full service performed by a garage, which resulted in new discs and pads all round and rear brake calipers. I then had the cam belt replaced along with the pulleys and springs to be on the safe side. I am not going back to a garage for brakes again though as they made a right mess of the rear ones. The brakes are so easy to maintain (I have recently found!)
White dials with blue numbers as the original black ones were in Kph. (eBay)
Chrome V-style roll bar and wind blocker (Tuningevolution)
Angel eye headlamps (from eBay, a mini specialist)
Unfortunately, I have had to change to Wipac Quadoptic lenses after an encounter with a flying dead animal flicked up by a lorry.
Chrome vent rings (eBay)
Blue leather gear gaiter and handbrake gaiter (eBay)
Clear side markers (lit) and clear side repeaters (eBay)
Repaired hood (until I can afford a new mohair one) Neoprene glue and offcuts of vinyl taken from the inside of the hood.
Repaired rear bumper (still needs some work)
Added home made grille (3)
Painted speaker covers and ash tray with Chrome spray (going to do them body colour as the chrome paint rubs off.)
Replaced black vinyl door cards with blue vinyl to match gaiters.
Repaired outer wheel arches where previous owner rubbed their garage (and painted scratches badly with chip paint)
Peugeot Silver metallic paint from Halfords is an exact match for Mazda SilverStone Paint!
Sold the OEM JDM door mirrors on eBay (120 :) )
Bought these for 20 the pair :D
I started stripping the standard alloys, polishing outer lip and centers of spokes, painting the rest Gloss Black. However, this was such a labourious job I ended up buying some new alloys instead :)
New Alloys (17" DJs Whirlwinds from alloywheels.co.uk)
But after seeing the gap I had to fit some lowering springs (Lesjofors springs from buypartsbuy.co.uk)
