The Evo is gone now, I no longer have it....though alot of hours, blood, sweat, tears and money were put into the car a new door has opened up for me as far as motorsports(where my heart lies).
I have been offered to drive a purpose built car at Redline's Time Attack for 2009(and possibly other events in between), and with much enthusiasm I accepted doing what many people only hope to do...."arrive and drive" versus drive thier own cars. I am excited for next year and can't wait until the car is ready to experience on the track as this car is completely different than the Evo.
More info to come as the build continues, our first Time Attack will be the Season opener at Buttonwillow on March 28th & 29th.
Here are photos from my last Time Attack at Auto Club Speedway in the Roval config. I was 5th in my class, the other drivers having both far more track experience and more powerful/better handling/braking cars than I did, I am proud of myself!
I had my NTO3's powdercoated Takata Green then had my vinyl matched...I must say despite my fear of it turning out horrible...it came out looking pretty bad ass!

Suspension geek Robert aka "Robi" from RobiSpec and I talking about how the car feels so he can make some adjustments before I go out on the track again.....he does this FOR ALL of his cars if he's at the track not just sponsored cars! WHO ELSE does that?!? & waiting to be staged....Harman Motive/Stoptech X behind me, I was smoking that Evo until Mike from Road Race Engineering played with thier tune. Dammit LOL.


5th Gear WOT...around 150mph. Yes it feels damn good. & Turn 1 @ 140mph. Praying to god my stupid stock wing gives me enough downforce to stay planted.


I thoroughly enjoyed this turn every time around.

WHY AN EVO?
A few reason's really, foremost, I needed a toy. Why? Because I sold my GSX-R600 and was stuck only with my very normal and very gutless Lancer ES. Second, I needed a 4 door vehicle - I have a 7 year old son, and well life is much easier with 4 doors when you have a kid. Third, this car is one of the cars I have always wanted for the last 8 year's I have known it existed, in my opinion, with respect to the STi, it is one of the most amazing car's on the road for the money, that is if you want a raw track monster.
By no mean's is this car in comparison with say a Porsche GT3 or a Lotus Exige or a Z06...but FOR ME, it was a winner. Its a practical racecar that responds well to light mods and has a huge aftermarket, if modified properly it can be a reliable daily driven track monster!
