TIME FOR A ROAD TRIP
On August 24th 2006 I went up to Dallas to get the car. It is a 1970 240Z. The brakes on it were totally shot, but luckily the emergency brake still worked so I could park it in the garage or on the driveway without it rolling away.
Actually my first stop was in Oklahoma City to pick up the LS1 engine and a T56 six speed out of a 2002 Firehawk donor car.
The engine has 42,000 miles on it and believe it or not since it is an all aluminum block with aluminum heads and a composite intake manifole it weighs about the same as the original engine. The transmission is a little heavier, but at 435HP who cares.
If you want a really good source for LS1 engines and trannys American Camaro and Firebird is the place to go. Their customer service is excellent, they have tons of stuff and they offer a 90 day warranty.
Here is the truck, fully loaded down. I stopped at a local tool shop (recommended by the folks at American Camaro and Firebird) and got a great deal on the engine hoist that you will see in all the photos $150!
