TIME FOR A ROAD TRIP

jwillie70's 1970 Datsun 240ZOn August 24th 2006 I went up to Dallas to get the car. It is a 1970 240Z. The brakes on it were totally shot, but luckily the emergency brake still worked so I could park it in the garage or on the driveway without it rolling away.
jwillie70's 1970 Datsun 240Z Actually my first stop was in Oklahoma City to pick up the LS1 engine and a T56 six speed out of a 2002 Firehawk donor car.jwillie70's 1970 Datsun 240Z The engine has 42,000 miles on it and believe it or not since it is an all aluminum block with aluminum heads and a composite intake manifole it weighs about the same as the original engine. The transmission is a little heavier, but at 435HP who cares.
If you want a really good source for LS1 engines and trannys American Camaro and Firebird is the place to go. Their customer service is excellent, they have tons of stuff and they offer a 90 day warranty.
jwillie70's 1970 Datsun 240Z Here is the truck, fully loaded down. I stopped at a local tool shop (recommended by the folks at American Camaro and Firebird) and got a great deal on the engine hoist that you will see in all the photos $150!
