Due to the amount of mods on my car, I have added this second page to show the progess on the car. Work on the car has slowed a great deal lately, due to increased business in the shop. Gotta make money to spend money...
This first set of pics show the process of removing and shaving the gas filler door from the left rear quarter panel. A little further down you will see pics of the new filler spout location.
Original filler door flattened and panel bonded in place.
Filler door tack welded in place to ensure it does not move.
Filler door prepped and readied for fibreglass filler.
Filled and smoothed left rear quarter panel, as well as more pics of the newly smoothened rear panels. Note, the shavel deck lid key hole.
The next few pictures show the newly fabricated Gas Filler Spout, in it new location under the deck lid. The new filler spout is completely tied into the old filler tube, with spill drain and vent tube. I have added a new Stant push through filler cap, so now I do not need to remove my filler cap, and risk damaging the paint.
Finally, here are a few pics of the tail end of the car, primed and ready for a final scuff before final priming and paint.
