1983 Buick Skylark T-Type>
This is my mother's 1983 Buick Skylark T-Type, and it is the first car she has ever purchased and bought herself. She ordered this car in October 1982, and took delivery on April 13, 1983. The car cost $17,359.00 in 1983. She ordered the car with every available option. The car has a 2.8 HO V6 and a 3 speed auto trans. This car has never been used in the winter, and is in excellent condition. We have ever piece of documentation for this car, including price comparision sheets from two dealer, original order sheets and original bill of sale. This car is still a one owner with just 82,000 miles on it. Not bad for 24 years old.
I have only ever seen one other car like this one, but it was totalled in 1986. Concrete walls and high speed seem to have that effect... The Skylark T-Type was only built in 1983, with all remaining inventory at the factory having their grills changed and reissued as 1984 models.
A couple of years ago, my mother paid a friend $3500.00 to have the car completely repainted. This guy made a complete mess of the car. He used the wrong color, had overspray everywhere, the two-tone lines were wrong, he did not even take the car apart. To top it all off, the car originally had aluminum bumpers painted with a tranparent black paint. This gave the bumpers a nice almost dark bronze look. It seems as he was prepping the bumper, he did not realize they were aluminum, and he cut the shit out of them. To cover his ass, he high build primed them and spray the bumpers and all the rest of the trim flat black. To say the least, my mother was not very happy.
This is her car at my shop, partcially stripped.

Fortunately, I now have my own Body Shop, and we took the car in and stripped it down. We took everything apart and painted it in pieces. We found the correct colors, place the two-tone lines in the right places, and corrected the bumper situation as much as possible. At least now the bumpers have the same bronze look they used to have.
This is her car just about completed, and prepped to go home.

Now, my mother is happy again... :)
I will post some new pics in the spring, after the car comes out of storage.
