THE TOY I got this car because I fell in love with it at first sight. It is one of those things that is always there, you just don't notice it it till BOOM, it hits you in the face....or at least for me it did!!!
Anyways, I watched this little car sit in a gravel driveway for 3 years, when finally a little index card appears on the window--FORSALE--I bought her for $300.00 cash as-is/where-is, and then a few days later drove her to my work which is only about 500 feet away, until I could get some legal tags on her to get her home which is about 6 miles away..
Well, thats only the beginning...the front brakes lock up on me as I am moving her around in the yard of a soon to be rented rental house the company that I work for owns. A change of pads gets her working and I make arrangement for a friend to follow me as I drive her the 6 miles to my home. But, she does'nt want to go. I can accelerate thru the gears but then settling in 4th she begins to loose power--forcing me to downshift just to boost the speed back up, only to slowly slow back down again even after giving her more gas...(the engine is running but she aint going no where!!!)
Ah, we made it home safe and sound!!! Now, to inspect what I got myself into. RUST, in a major way!! Maryland has this policy--if a few flakes are falling--you better beleive the SALT trucks have already coated the roads anticipating more snow and hopefully avoiding any school closures---So, if you happen to be driving a car made of steel, --its an absolute guarantee that your car will end up a rust bucket.
