THIS IS WHERE I STARTED...

97discodriver's 1997 Land Rover Discovery

THIS IS LEFT OFF..

The truck is pretty much stock as of now.. I am going for a blackout look for the finished product.

I have the black and brushed metal rover signs that come stock on the 06 Rover sport. You can see them in the pic of the headlights, and taillights if you look close. I got them here: http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/DAG500140G.cfm for under $7 each.

I installed this headlight upgrade from roversnorth.com (Stock #'s RNK9923, RNK9921)

I gotta get the clear corners with the black housing soon! They are going to look pretty clean when the truck gets painted.

I figured I would do all the small inexpensive stuff first, instead of just getting rims and some speakers and calling it a day.

Got this taillight tint spray off Ebay. I went out on a limb, but it works GREAT!! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a blackout look. Of course there are no blackouts for the 97 Disco, so to me it was sorta "priceless" but it was only about $12 anyway!! You can get as custom as you want with the tape, or just go all black. They even have yellow, red, and blue for the headlights, but thats not my thing..

Just go to Ebay.com and type "JDM spray"

AFTER (YES! RED LIGHT SHINES JUST FINE!)

I found where I can get the 3D "Land Rover" badges found on the newer models for the front of the truck, I think I might spray them with some mirracrome just to make them that much more noticable.. :)

Again.. I went out on a limb, and got some plastic/metal spray paint (At least I got Krylon!) and painted the rims, and 5th wheel cover (I know.. I painted over the "Land Rover", but it looks dope!)

This is making me think I should really stop listening to all these "expert" friends of mine with NOTHING on thier cars! Again, I just taped everything off, and shoved some newspaper between the 5 spokes - picture stuffing a whole in a wall before patching. After that I hit it with about 3 or 4 light coats (I learned my lesson on those darn taillights..)

BOOM! Just got in the crystal smoked side markers off Ebay.. Yup, they were sent straight from Europe to good 'ol Arizona just for me... :) Again, I wanted to wait untill I got the truck painted, but couldn't... Its gonna be DOPE!!

************************UPDATE***********************

Did some really stupud stuff in this nice truck and now it is no longer with me.. :(

If all goes as planned I should have a Range Rover soon!!

Thanks for the nice comment on my ride. I really love your Rover dude, you are starting out the right way, by doing simple clean stuff. Good luck with everything and keep me updated.
