I have sold the Dart!
Electric Blue Pearl. Very Nice.
Before paint----->
Rear sections are done and as good as you could ask for.
If I had more time, I would take the intake and valley pan off and hit them in a bead blasting booth. Here you can see the Holley Fuel pump set up in the trunk.
both rear quarter attachments to the roof have been perfectly redone. The small ding in the front right fender has been repaired, all emblem holes welded closed and grinded smooth.
15 Gallon Fuel Cell in the trunk, and a great job done on the mini tubs. The interior is looking much better with new carpet from Year One.
Below you can see the inner rear quarters are in really good shape. Everything for the rear is nice and clean. You can see the nice new exhaust piping and the driveshaft loop. There is virtually no rust on the bottom of this car. The original owner had a gravel driveway, and he used to spray oil down to keep the dust to a minimum,and it coated the bottom enough for it not to rust. The little bit of rust was on the driver side floor, and I cut that out and welded in a new floor pan from Year One.
Getting closer, Kept having to trailer it to my friend's body shop.
Driver side fender after welding in all te emblem holes and adding new metal to the bottom of the fender.
This is a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger. It has been mini-tubbed, and has a well built 440. It has a 727 trans with reverse manual valvebody. It also has a 3:91 rear, 15 gallon fuel cell. The engine in this car ran 6.86 in the 1/8th mile with a tiny little 700 CFM Demon Carb. I bought a 1050+ CFM Holley that has been flowed out to 1170. Needless to say it perked the motor up quite a bit!
I've finally had a chance to get some work going on it. Roll cage is in, new carpet, new floor board, took off the vinyl top. I'm just about to do the body work and see where I'm at.
Before any body work
Bought a nice fiberglass hood with the "6-pak" scoop. Removed the vinyl to see what wa lurking underneath. Really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Mostly surface rust, and need of a bit of grinding and sanding. We wire brushed out al of the factory bondo and shaved all of the rivets that held on the chrome trim from the vinyl roof.
When I first bought the car, the following pictures are what it looked like. A little rusty, and in need of some TLC. Vinyl roof and nasty green carpet. The hood scoop was a little over the top for my taste!
