About the car, it's a premium v6 coupe that when I purchased it only had 34 miles on it. As of 11/5/06 it has a little over 3,600 miles. It's my daily driver and makes every driving trip a blast everytime I take it out on the road and as you can tell from the mileage I put on it in a short amount of time, I love to drive this thing. Too bad I have to put 60 miles a day on this car driving to and from work. I may look into a daily driver/beater type of car soon so no additional excess miles get racked up on the 'Stang. My car comes with a 4.0L SOHC engine that produces 210hp and 240 foot pounds of torque. From what I read, the horsepower on the v6 models are a little underrated and some people have dynoed the v6 as getting as much as 235hp. Motorweek on their road test of the '06 Mustang earlier in the year were only able to produce a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds in the v6. I was able to acheive this in only 6.6 seconds, so while it's not the fastest car out there, I am impressed with my results.
Options on my Mustang include the Exterior Sport Appearence Package (spoiler and Mustang side tape), leather seats (which surprisingly are really comfortable), interior upgrade package which includes chrome and satin aluminum accents. The Shaker 500 (comes standard on v6 Premium coupes & convertible) is pretty excellent for a stock stereo. While it has problems reading CD-R discs burned with certain software (MusicMatch for instance) but once that problem is worked around, it sounds pretty good. Probably the most unique feature of this (or any Mustang) is the MyColor gauge option. It allows a person to change the interior color of their gauges to any of the 125 possible combinations. It's a great alternative to swapping out gauge clusters or adding white face gauges. If you get tired of one color, just adjust the colors on the MyColor gauges and it's like you got a whole new set of gauges. I love this option and probably one of the best features of the car.
Mods will definitely be coming for the Mustang, but I'm not sure how soon that would be. At the present time, my primary focus is getting her paid off so I don't owe anything to the man, in this case Ford Credit Services, lol. In the interim before the car is paid off I would like to get a cold air intake and better aftermarket exhaust set up. Perhaps a single axle back (since it's more affordable) and then upgrade to a complete dual exhaust system in the future. I'm not sure where I am taking this car, and don't want to buy anything until I'm sure where I'm going. Off the top of my head, here are the things I want to accomplish with this car:
**Bodykit, (leaning towards Street Scene...I like Cervini front end, but do not like the GT foglights in the lower grille, and if I could do it without the foglights, it would become top choice. Swapping to a stock GT bodykit would also be a high possibility)
**Aftermarket 18" - 20" rims and tires.
**15% (front windows)/5% (quarter & rear windows) tint. This will happen around spring/summer of 2007.
**Aftermarket in-dash TV/DVD/CD player. I always wanted one of these, ever since I had my Cavalier (but couldn't fit without heavy modification to the dash). Now that I have a car where it can easily fit, this may happen in the future, but it'll be a Kenwood as I want to install my Music Keg in the Mustang as soon as possible.
**Racing stripes are a must, yeah they are!
There's probably more things that I will want to do as time goes on but I just want to take it one step at a time. I had big plans for my Cavalier (if you saw my other page) and not one mod ever occured to that car. I just want to take it one step at a time, focus on getting the car paid off and see where that leaves me as far as modifications. I don't want to get too over my head...for now, I'll enjoy driving her stock and she still turns heads so what more can I ask for.
I may be interested in doing a trunk swap with someone who has a spoilerless Satin Silver trunk. Especially I decide to go with an aftermarket spoiler for the car.
More pics to come later when I get time to take them...for now enjoy and sign the guest book if you like.
