I bought this car a few years ago from a guy I now race with up north. he was the second owner, he owned it for most of the neon’s life. He put a racing header 2.5 pacesetter cat back suspension KYB gr2 gas struts sway bars and performance parts on the head motor mount inserts. Some weight reduction and 17 rims.

I bought the car and saw all the trophies it had won in the past years in STS class. I raced twice the next year placing 1st in one race. That year I did a lot of drag and street racing but learning that people are stupid and the streets are not safe.

One night though I hit a telephone phone sideways at about 65 miles and hour. I broke the front rims hub steering knuckle and make the front struts look like bananas. After some paint and new parts 700 race alignment we were back...

After going to a car show I saw the turbos on the neons so I started to buy "stuff" = crap off of Ebay several bad turbos and other crap parts I dragged an oil line causing the unthinkable. Two front rod bearings. I parked the car in the garage for a year! i work very hard and knowing I would never put crap back on the car.

I found Cj Rombold engine builders. i bought every thing i could.

When I first had got the car, and started buying stuff that was a waste of money...like body kits

I swapped the back drums to calipers from a 1995, with zinc plated silver drilled and slotted rotor with racing pads

I bent some shifting forks and have a 1999 RT transmission going in this winter/ going to try to get old one fixed or find another and keep the rt for another spare.

I have taken the car a part to redo things i rushed last year and to rpalce things i did not get to do last year.

All the neat gauges in side, boost, AEM a/f, oil turbo, water temp, tack. Greedy silver turbo timer, Fake back seat/ and all extra weight gone.

New 17 x 7.5 racing rims from the Tire rack with yomo spec 2
have to sets of 14" rims i will be placinf new stock and one set of racing slicks on. I also have a set of 18"s but they will be going on the other neon. I boought a wercked blue 1995 sohc 5 speed for fun to put all my old performance parts on and to have somthing i could bet up and not spend alot of money having fun in. ill have to put some pics of it one here some day

no insluation just carpet to keep it clean
holes cut in metal bumpers
front of fram cut to let motor get more air
intercooler halo with split line co2 and water injection

A set of vavle caps with little a roadrunner on them to keep the style alive
