This 1972 Mercury Montego MX Brougham has been an offical FordMuscle (www.fordmuscle.com) project car for the past 2 years. While she is not the prettiest Montego you've seen, the body/chassis is very good and this California car has no rust. The undercarriage is dry and rust-free. The car runs great. The VIN is 2H11H566473. It's a 351 Cleveland 2V car with C4 tranny and a 2.75:1 open 9-inch rear-end. She's a dependable driver with many sensible modifications. The car has 95,000 miles. While many parts are original, many are new and upgraded.

Engine
As a FordMuscle project car, this Montego has freshly rebuilt 351C 2V cylinder heads, Edelbrock Performer Intake, Edelbrock Carburetor, HEI Ignition, Hooker Headers, FlowMaster Mandrel Bent Exhaust, 3G Alternator, and a Mark VIII Electric Fan with SPAL controller. The bottom-end is original and burns no oil. The You can see it run here.

Interior
The interior of the Montego is very nice. I added BeStop bucket seats, a center console, GT door panels, carpeting, and a newly upholstered rear seat. I also installed a stereo system that works off an IPod and amplifier. There's also a RAM Mount laptop mount. Autometer gauges were installed as well.

Body
This Montego is rust-free. The body has a few dings, the most serious being the front right fender and extension. Otherwise, this car is a great foundation.

Background
I bought the car in Fresno, California and was able to track the Montego's history back to Antelope, California (near Sacramento). The car is 100% west coast, hence the rust-free condition.
