This is my 1961 Morris 850.I have owned her for quite a few years now and have had some good years of motoring. It all started rather innocently with the need for an engine freshen up on the cards. It was decided the 998 would come out, rebuilt with a 1100 crank and mild cam.
This quickly became a little out of hand with most components lightened and/or balanced, a large port/valve head sourced, lumpy cam and most other goodies on the list to be put into the new motor.
This was installed & ran quite well but it just needed a little more kick... In comes a supercharger from a toyota 4AGZE motor. This would now involve pulling the motor out again for a new cam, double valve springs & checking of compression ratio for compatability.
Finally when the engine was back in the mini and tuned, the reasonable figure of 75hp atw was produced @ 10psi. Certainly makes trips a bit more lively now!!
Installed inside are Sparco bucket seats, oval binnacle with Autometer gauges, and a few other goodies i will get into later.
She is also running a 998 block, stroked to 1132, 12G1316 head from a 1275 with larger inlet valves, modified combustion chamber and porting, Metro turbo head gasket, Double valve springs, Centre oil pickup, HIF38 carby, MSD Ignition, Maniflow LCB's and RC40 out the back.
Pictures of the engine bay originally, with first fitment of blower, during removal and with the blower back in.
