SILVRMXSIK's 1976 Holden Monaro

^ radiator on an absolutley shagged Twin-headlight rad-support. goddamn this thing is rusted.

SILVRMXSIK's 1976 Holden Monaro

^ comparing both radiators. 3core and 5core.. both v8 units. im usin the big one ;)

SILVRMXSIK's 1976 Holden Monaro

^ heres the front of it.

both radiators were fine, and neither seemed to leak, but the bigger one had very clean coolant in it, so i have faith that its still in good nick!
im going to bend all the fins back straight (slowly and painfully heheheh) wash all the crap off and out of it, and repaint it black. then it gets the full shroud slapped on :)

anyway.. thats that for now. please commmmmeeeennnnntttt....

just sanded it all back, and sprayed in the same black.

went to the wreckers too. eventually got what i thought was a nice rust-free nosecone off, when i realized its had a rust repair. bugger it, the one i allready have it better.

thats the thing with doing up old cars.. always on the lookout for better parts!

---
aaaanyway, now that ive got the radiator out of the way, NEXT on the agenda is all the stainless! :/
i dug it all out from where it was hiding... and layed it out to see if i had it all:

then strapped it to a board.. cos everywhere i put it, it all fell over. soooo hard to store...
anyway, gotta get into buffing all that sh*t up. might take a while.. :S

^^ engine bay stickers. the '4.2' is the HJ/LH air cleaner sticker, while the 'beweare of fan' sticker is for the radiator shroud. :)

more importantly; since the bodywork was complete.. the base was sprayed on! all white...

then the car was masked up, and all the doorjambs and boot jamb done in the yellow. best part about the two-pack is the shine straight off the gun. you get to have shiney doorjambs, as if this was acrylic, itd be too hard to buff! :)

the colour is a fkn stunner. cant wait to see this over the nice straight rear quaters. :)

Hi Ross! I really enjoyed reading the progress of your project. You are to be congratulated on the result. Lotta work but your Munro is looking absolutely fantastic! I restored a 1976 Torana and I know about the frustrations and costs, but the result, if it has been done right the first time (ie your approach) is a car that you can be very proud of. Keep up the progress pics! Cheers, Ian
