hmm... a little bit has happened. if decided (as with all projects) that this is going to be done right. the car is going complete bare metal and resprayed in a 2pac absinth yellow. engine, chassis, and body will all be seperated, stripped, cleaned, sprayed.
will get pics up when it gets blasted, if anyone cares.

did the underside too, but nothing interesting there...

uhh.. 6/8?

took a couple pics yesterday, was trial fitting the panels. all pretty nice, and just have to bend the top half of the RHS front guard, and bend the radiator support a little (i think it got banana'd when it was sandblasted :/ )

the poor little GTS is gonna be a fair confused bitsa now! the rhs guard is from a green HX, LHS was from a red HJ, nosecone was mandarin red then chamois from the hz parts car, rad support was from a bronze HJ vacationer, and a couple doors from the HZ parts car! rest is original though. :)

aaanyway. doors and shit are prepped now, leavin only the shell. panelbeaters who arent busy are so hard to get a hold of.. and they all have a different opinion :p. think ive got a guy sorted though, so it just needs a bit of damage repair, clean up my repaired sections, and have it all primered ready to go! cant fkn wait.

20/8/07

now.. fkn FINALLY ive got a place sorted to do it. getting done properly in Standox two-pack 15949 Absinth yellow COB.
body and paint is now going to be very costy (just into 5 figures.. :/ ) but should be arrow-straight and look ace! :)

bought a sample-pot just to make sure on the colour:

turned a corner now i guess! the GTS left on the weekend to get smoothed and sprayed. got the motor out to work on that now... looks a bit lonely in a shed though. :/

Hi Ross! I really enjoyed reading the progress of your project. You are to be congratulated on the result. Lotta work but your Munro is looking absolutely fantastic! I restored a 1976 Torana and I know about the frustrations and costs, but the result, if it has been done right the first time (ie your approach) is a car that you can be very proud of. Keep up the progress pics! Cheers, Ian
