Im going to do this page different to my other ones. and have it as a big long timeline. :)

anyway, im RdS of alot of forums.. and this is one of my cars:

a 1976 HJ monaro GTS4. 253+trimatic+single spinner diff(2.76:1)... and matching numbers ;)
built in adelaide in april 1976.. factory yellow/black (1886-18x) with the only options looking to be:
-auto
-front/rear spoilers (definite evidence of rear, and front/rear came together as the one option)
-herringbone inserts in the seats (hence the 'X' in the trim code)

currently the car is in pretty poor nick. looks to have had a very tarted up redo in the 80's/90's, lots of bog, twinheadlight front, etc. the photos definetly lie!
anyway, im going to take my time returning this car to STOCK!

to-do list. :(
- replace LHS sill.
- remove stereo and speakers, replace with stock AM deck.
- bit of retrimming.
- parcel shelf
- detail the engine bay
- respray boot with new boot carpet, and 5th GTS mag.
- replace every peice of panel from the wingmirrors foward.
- new single headlight front.
- new indicator lenses
- new grill
- new gts badge
- new lenses
- respray bonnet guards and front in plain yellow. no need for a HX GTS bonnet stripe :S.
- get RWC
- get rego, and custom plates
- then... in the future sometime... remove all rust and bog :)

when i got it:

Pics of it atm:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand the bad bits:

twin headlight front, HZ GTS grille, and HX gts blackout. all chipped and pretty much rooted too. both guards had been resprayed (with wrong gts flute blackouts) and the LHS one hadpainted :/

^ pretty much woeful under here. its on gas, had dual airhorns, paint is fked on the inner guards, underbonnet and tag-panel are rooted, etc etc.

you can see the C-pillar has allready been touched up, and is bubbling again! also there is just some ghetto chipboard for a parcel shelf...

the interior is in all-over pretty damn good nick, but all four door cards are shagged, and there are a few misc brown bits of trim. you can see the shady rust-bubbles in the A-pillar :(

enjoy.. and keep checking back. this is going to progress fast in the next year, as i want it on the ready for summernats 2007. :)

(btw, this is what it should end up like)

but with the factory front and rear spoilers like this one:
(damn i love this car)

Update. 24/10

update. 26/10
ahahahh... my car is teh fuckz0rs.

why it didnt pass a roadworthy inspection:
- number plate lights not working
- horn not working
- wiper washers not working
- rear speakers to be secured
- new windscreen needed
- LH seat loose
- floor pan is rusted out
- front chassis is cracked
- transmission crossmember cracked
- front wheel bearings require adjustment
- fuel pump leaking oil
- rust in body (sill panels and 1/4 panels)
- exhaust tail pipe leaking
- oil leak (transmission seal)
- oil leak (sump plug)
- transmission line wrapped around extractors
- bolts loose on lower control arms
- fuel lines not secure R.H. side
- need new LHR tyre
- LPG tank out of date, and needs sticckers for rego plates.

so yarr.... looks like im not just redoing the front soon; but pulling the WHOLE FUKING CAR apart, and starting from scratch. oh, and i forgot to add.... the chassis is bent on the RHS and all the fuel lines are out of whack, which needs to then be straightened and engineered.

uhh... anyone got any spare money?

... pulled the interior out aswell. will get some more pics up.

here is the rust, there are 5 holes in the whole floor :D

did something i had to do today. grind down the tag panel. it looked like ASS beforehand. before it was last painted, it looks like someone has put a layer of silicone or glue over the rust, and painted over that. it had lifted to the shithouse. :S

beforehand

after

all up.

now i just have to highfill it and finish it all off... primer and ready for paint :)

another updater.... 20/11/06

brand spankin new indicators and single headlight rad support

polished resevoir thingo

left A-pillar rust. its gonna be a bitch to fix, but itl be done.

LHS sill rust. after a bit of digging...

hahah... fkn VB can.. ghetto...

finished digging. this is faaarked.

but, doesnt matter. i have a brand new sill.. made out of thick ass metal.

once this is on there will be NO rust in that area, the rust thankfully didnt spread to the doors, interior sill, Front or rear quater panels. i got lucky. funnily enough though, there is NO rust in the RHS area. just a few bubbles in the back right door.

btw, someone PLEASE write something.. or give it a couple more stars. cheers.

rust on lhs, im still stalling about it cos i dunno if i wanna patch it, replace a big section, or whatever.. that whole section can unpick though...

both the lhs, and rhs of the cowl/wiper panel is orig and rust free. fkn ripper :)

whole car in the garage:

btw, a pic of how the bog was just trowelled on... under the crease there would be almost 10mm thick :sigh:

thats it for now.
