Picking car up in Canada. It was cold! Cheryl was freezing, but happy to have found another Tempest! Car was originally from Texas. Very little rust.

On the way home to IL. Stopped at buddy's house in Grand Rapids, MI. Yeah, the 18" wheels looked great, but didn't clear fenders. Had to go! This was the first time the car ever had snow on it since 64!

Dash gutted, getting ready for paint.

Body work started. Doors and front fenders were chemically stripped. No rust at all. Rest of car was mechanically stripped to bare metal. Minimal metal work done around rear wheel lips, rear side window frames and tailgate frame. Roof rack holes were welded up. Tailgate had been hit and poorly repaired. Replaced with a rust free gate from 64 Chevelle. All trim holes were welded up.

In primer.

Dash painted.

In paint booth. Two-tone was carried through door frames and interior.

Going home on tow dolly.

Unloading. Note matching PT Cruiser!

Left front view. Notice airbrushed trim.

Left rear view.

Dash will feature custom gauge panel with Auto Meter gauges.

Filled holes from original emblem and airbrushed it back on.

The car originally had chrome trim along the beltline. It was removed and all holes welded up. Custom painted "brushed stainless steel" graphic with airbrushed trim and Tempest logo on quarter panel was added.

Airbrushed trim on rear door and quarter.

Under hood. Hood was perfect, no rust. Original heater/AC box was removed and firewall smoothed. Vintage A/C to be added in the future.

Engine: '79 350 Pontiac w/57K original miles. TH350 trans. Will add Edelbrock RV cam kit and dual exhaust. Already had Edelbrock Performer intake, I added Edelbrock carb.

Under cover in heated garage. Waiting for more funds and time. Actually, this pic shows wrong cover. I ordered from California Car Cover and they sent me one for a 37 Pontiac Coupe. Didn't exactly fit as you can see. They replaced it with the correct cover which fits perfectly.
