My 1978 Monte Carlo was a 305, 2bbl and turbo 350 trans and now it's a 500hp, 388 stroker SB Chevy with Dart Pro1 aluminum heads,Hurricane intake,Holley 4010 750DP carb,Big Solid lifter cam,PJ gear drive,Electric water pump,50k volt HEI dist.,K&N filters and 700r4 trans with a 2800 stall converter.Exhaust is handled by Doug's Headers with 3" race readies and 3" X pipe going to Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers. It has 15" Eagle Alloy wheels and BF Goodrich radial TA tires.I recently installed a new fiberglass 4" cowl induction hood from VFN Fiberglass. Got the Car from a nice old man for $2000 in the shape you see it now. I nicknamed the car NIGHTMARE!! Just installed a 16 gallon Jaz fuel cell.Recently installed new black projector headlights.Installed new 3 1/2 inch dia. custom aluminum driveshaft. Installed a new Ford 9" with 3.89 gears and a spool. This car came factory with aluminum trunk lid and aluminum brake drums and aluminum front support. Soon will be installing 2 Jaz Racing seats with red velour covers and a Grant steering wheel. Will be installing my new tach and guages after that.Lots of wiring and interior work yet to do along with tinting windows.Installing the new exhaust in the next couple of days. She should sound like thunder when it finally fires up.
This is my NIGHTMARE in progress!

Hey nightmare i see you got a new exhaust...sweet stuff man. i was wondering if you can give me some advice on electric fan-electric water pump, anything i should keep an eye on while shopping? also how does your fan mount to the radiator and how well does your setup run during a hot day. ohh before i forget did your new headlights need a kit or upgraded wiring or were they simple plug in replacements.....thanks in advance, karl.

That is a sweet job you did on that monte. I still kick myself for selling that black Monte. It was so perfect but $1500 with nothing done but move it to my place and put an ignition in it is pretty hard to pass up when you got as many projects as I do layin around. Can't keep em all, yet. By the way where did you get that cowl hood? Did you have to build it or did you find someplace to buy it?

wow...nicest monte i've seen yet. you did a hell of a lot of good work...im likin the cowl too, you dont see many montes to begin with (atleast not third gen.), and you see fewer with bad ass cowl hoods like yours. thats gotta haul ass! good work. 10 stars. keep me updated.

Hey man thats some serious stuff I'M droping out my 305 as well and putting in a 388 into mine unfortunately it will not have aluminum heads but later down the line when i get some more money there will be. my set is a eagle4340 steel crank H-beam rods MAHLE forged pistons, comp cam, eldlebrck intake, holley 600 cfm, roller rockers, if you have any inputs on that set please send them my way hopefully by today i'll be picking up the engine and by sunday after priming setting the timing and accesories i'll have it running and have another video up here. SO please hit me back with some good tips about a 388 set anything will help. R/ R.Flores Sgt./USMC
