Overview
My grandmother fell ill a few years back. When she did, she gave me her 91 626. At the time it was in very good condition. I drove it quite a bit all at once then I parked it and flew to Alaska. When I returned last July ('06) I went to my car and found that it had been tagged, broken into and someone tried to hot wire it. Lucky for me, there was something wrong with it and it wouldn't start. Unlucky for me... there is something wrong with it and it won't start.
A couple months ago I threw a battery from my other car (an 88 Chrysler) into the bay and tried to start it. Nothing, no crank, no clicks. As a matter of fact everything electrical shut off. After checking all the fuses in the car (yes all of them) I could find nothing wrong and figured that when they tried to hotwire it, they shorted something I couldn't find. And since I didn't want to look for it, I gave up.
Resolved to sell it as scrap, a friend of mine said that he wanted to look at it first. We pulled his camero up and attached the battery to the terminals of the Mazda via jumper cables. Turning the key, expecting nothing, the car turned over and sputtered and died. IT'S ALIVE!
So, now, I'm going to fix it.
