Pontiac1976's 1997 Geo Metro or ask question

This is 1997 Chevy GEO METRO 5spd 3 cylinder 1.0
Named the Purple People Eater

The rear hatch is tint dark, no ugly rear wiper on it. Has rear Defrost Grid.

The Front bumper has tow bar that also acts like a extra bumper and mounting place for the fog lights that are off in this pic.

I have put on a nice size 185\70\13 tires, look real good on the set of 4Bolt 13x5.5 24-40mm RONAL rims in the summer.

I have all so put on a longer oil filter from Fram Filters # PH3600 to make sure there is extra oil on hand there at all time vs the stock fram # PH3614 filter the PH3600 is about a reg filter and a 3/4 more added on.The oil plug takes a 1/2" Nylon washer gasket to seal it.

Well it had Big speedo & Big gas gauge. I now have put in a foctory Cluster with a Large tech gauge, speedo W/TripMeter gauge with Small gas gauge, temp gauge and the K/M only show about 800 more then old one. It came from a anther 5spd swift 1.0 car got from a freinds scraper.
The Geo Metor is pretty good on gas, with the Engine of a 1.0 and 5spd.

I was getting tired of the foggy head light so I cleaned and buffed & coat them, big differens from before and after.

I run 175\70\13 tires for the winter on stock black steel rims
4bolt 13x4.5 4x114.3mm back space is -45 Oh just in case you need nut. These have a stupid size wheel nuts of M12-1.25x19mm and wheel studs are M12-1.25x33.5mm.Oh just in case you need nut like I did. The factory ones have "alum" cover"s that get bent rust under them make it hard or impossable to get the stupied things off these have a stupid size of 12x1.25

This winter 2007-2008 March was very bad for salt & snow really got to the body.

I guess it time to retire the GEO. It was a pretty good car for the age & being a small car it did a lot of part halling for my other cars and trucks and looking for parts. If I could find one with a mint Body and good motor I would get another one the same in a heart bet. It really can hold a good load I had some big parts in it. ...... 1973-87 truck rad suport, two fenders, one inner fender, front rotors, small tool box full about 45LBS. Well it drove really good.

Very nice...Metros do make great pickup trucks! We had a set of swift GTi seats, a front and rear GTi bumper, side skirts and some misc parts in a 97 hatchback metro. We have also hauled like 20 40lb bags of wood pellets cause the pickup truck was broken...and the other day we had a metro door, metro hatch, and misc parts in it. They are pretty amazing! You should keep the car...they are worth fixing, provided you know someone to fix it!
