Hello Everyone,
Most of you that visit the section of this site that rotates around
those lovely Loyales have probably seen my other post under johnnyispy. Unfortunately I have been working a lot and have not been by to update and my email address has changed but I am back with a new Loyale - I still have the old one but she needs a new motor shipped in due to some bad luck with mechanics in this area.
We are going to drop a engine in as it's just a better outcome!

But moving on we have a new Lady and this light brown beauty was found for $500.00! I have already dropped in a new windshield and put on a ripping set of winter Toyos so she is feeling pretty nice on any corner. The next step is the CV boot which I will figure out on my own as its only the boot. And lastly a starter as this one is of question.
I will post and add as many photos as I can as this is what I do you can visit my Photography
Web site Here -I will also bring you up to date with the future of my older Loyale as she is taking a winter nap in the garage.
Until the next update

I am using all the extensive info at http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/ to fix this lady up. The thing is with these cars is they will run with so much abuse handed to them that when someone like me gets hold of one in need its just in time to put the life back into them. I just can't believe that people don't care for their cars even though they are worth the care giving.

I have got this lady running at 99% now.
Did not need a new engine as I found a pretty honest mechanic who has Subaru service awards.
Repairs since a I bought her for $500.00 are:
Windshield $265.00 CAD
CV Joint $265.00 CAD
Breaks 260.00 CAD
Timing, Oil Pump, Crank shaft seals 625.00 CAD
Horn 10.00 CAD
Water Pump and coolant flush - got ripped off in tourist trap 757.00 - my regular mechanic quoted me $400.00 CAD
Most of these repairs were general fixes that are required every
70,000 to 100,000 kms - the water pump was the original and took
240,000 kms to die.
Overall if I bought a used Forrester with 195,000 kms on it for $9,000 I would be still paying for it. Here I got a lady that is in top shape with a little bodywork and paint needed. She gets better miles than any other Subaru model on the road with a much lower servicing cost per 100,000 kms.
Until the body work is finished...
