Ok, now to outfit the toy with other toys! First, to accomodate high current, I ran heavy wires from the battery to a home made fuse block. In retrospect, I could have used the fuse block from the last pathfinder. When the time comes to raise these wires for water crossings -I will likely get something from the last truck!
I have installed power for plug in jumper cables, and a winch out of the grille. I have also added a switch plate in place of the ash tray to control the Piaa floods, Thule (KC) spot lights, reverse lamp, and Idunno yet. (rocket pods?)So far, I have a mount for a camera, radar detector, MP3 player, Ham & CB radios and antennas, Garmin Quest GPS, and an "aroooga" horn that I had to stuff in a wheel well!
I got "wildcat" 32x11.5" tires because they have a fearsome sounding name. Actually, the mud terrain tires had essentially the same lug pattern as higher dollar versions. They work well. Not only did the fenders require a little trimming to allow articulation with the 3.75" backspace rims, but some hammering behind the front wheels was also necessary. It helps when your neighbor owns Boston Autobody in Billerica!
