1992 Ford Mustang LX Hatchback

Red-Devils's 1992 Ford Mustang

Goal

Red-Devils's 1992 Ford Mustang

Current

The Story:
The car was originally a 2.3L Inline 4. But before I bought the car the original owner decided to end fuel economy for a more powerful 5.0L HO V8 302. After finding a wrecked 5.0L car the project began. He took all the mechanical components from the V8 car as well as the front clip and transplanted them into the 4cylinder car. So now after purchasing the car I have a 4cylinder body and interior from the windshield back with 82,000kms. And from the windshield forward all the mechanical conponents and front clip of a V8 with 78,000kms. So now my project begins over the next 3years(Goal..lol) to blend the front into the rear and also dressup the car along the way.

Previous Mods:
1. MM Subframe Connectors.
2. MM Strut Tower Brace.
3. MM Front and Rear Sway Bars.
4. Ford Racing King Cobra Clutch.

Current Plans:
1. 2.5inch Cowl hood and Steeda Spolier.
2. Build 408W N/A 500hp (currently collecting parts)
3. 5lug Convert, Disc brakes all around covered by 15inch drag rims
4. Repaint car original Ford Silver
5. Make under the hood minimalistic, fill holes and make smooth.
6. Full Exhaust with no Cats(completed)
7. Ford 9inch, spool, 3.55gears, 28spline axles.
8. UPR suspension components(control arms, Kmember, Aarms, springs, 90/10 struts)
9. Rear seat delete, custom 6pt cage, battery relocation.
10.Richmond 5/6spd.

FORD Vs. CHEVY
Ok. I am a fan of both the Bowtie and the Blue Oval alike. Look at the history for both companies with the Sports Car......Chevy had the Vette first, in 1953, and Ford had to play catchup with the T-Bird two years later. Likewise Ford Got a jump on the sport/compact with the Mustang in mid 64. Chevy had to respond quickly, as the Mustang DOMINATED in sales over the Vette, and Super Sport packages, on Chevelles, Novas, and Impallas. Chevy responded back in 67 with the Camaro. It took a couple years for the gap to significantly narrow between Camaro and Mustang, in sales and the Mustang has almost, still to this day, outsold F-bodies 3 to 1. Its not to say there haven't been AWESOME performance packages and ideas with both cars, for instance, the Shelby musangs, The Yenko Camaros, The Cobra R's, The ZL-1's, GT500's,454 Chevelle's just to name a few.
Point being, at various times each maker has had advantages over the other. To say, one is better than the other, in my opinion is retarded and not possible. All I can really say is atleast it ain't a Dodge or a Tuner! Thats a whole different story!
