I drive a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT. I just started workin' on it a month ago. When I got it, it had a really crappy, fiberglass, white topper, rust lines and loads of scratches. The interior was a bit of a wreck, but workable. It is a 5-speed stick, with a single aftermarket modification to the engine: a K&N Filtercharger. Everything else is completely stock. I hope to modify it a little more, but I want it to uphold it's name as a Rice Rocket: flashy, but only a moderate performer.
My plans are pretty simple, I want to get the topper off, paint it, and get the dings out. I want to get some underglow for it, maybe some Xenons, and completely re-do the interior. I want to replace the seats with red and black Sparco Racing seats, I want to replace the current grey headliner with a black one. I desparately need to replace the floor mats and possibly the floor itself. I have already replaced a stereo unit; a VR3, which contains a direct input for a USB Memory Stick, an MP3 player, and an SD brand Thumb Drive. I'm going to buy new speakers for the back and a pair of 13" subs to replace the folding seats in the back of the cab. I also want to try to have the gauge faces replaced because the stock gauges do not include a tachometer. If all else fails, I'll keep the stock stuff and buy a nice tachometer with a big yellow shift light, hopefully that'll help me remember to shift. All in all, it's gonna look brand new, and I hope it turns out great.
I have already installed pedal covers, gotten a paint job estimate and have installed a new shift knob. Not difficult jobs, just things that needed to be done. I also bought a set of temporary seat covers, until I can get my seats($9.95 @ Adavance Auto Parts).
