Updated 7/24/2009:  Minor suspension update.  Changed out the 500F/550R spring setup.  Acquired new Eibach 600lb springs.  Now she's stiffer with 550F/600R.

Updated 7/21/2009:  Ultra Mount motor mounts.  This one is for the "motor-heads". Because the GM mounts can't hold my 500HP LS6 down!!!  This is what you need when there's too much torque!!!

Updated 6/30/2009: First track event at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia.

Here's a shot of me and “The Ride” at the Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia. I wish the shot was from the driver side but I love it anyway. The guy on the passenger side was my instructor. There was one serious accident (they all walked away from it), a few spin outs and many trips to the gravel traps.  Thankfully I had no incidents.

This was my first track event. In the beginning, it was hard trying to achieve the perfect race line. By the second and third sessions, I started to get it. By the fourth and fifth sessions, I was nailing perfect laps consistently and at fast speeds. In the morning, being the slower car, I allowed many to pass. In the afternoon, I passed a few and only a few were able to pass me. My fastest pass on the front straight was 142mph.  I was only able to do that because I was in the proper gear, and hit my apex’s perfectly in the turn 8,9, 10 complex.  I generally averaged in the 110’s to low 120’s on the straightaway.

Between sessions, I was tweaking the suspension settings like I knew what the hell I was doing.  Check out that lowered stance promoting a good center of gravity.

 ME NEED MORE TRACK TIME!!!!!

jnrandall's 2004 Cadillac CTS

Here she goes, with her bad self!  As an insurance policy, I changed her rubber from 245/45/18 at all four corners to 245/40/18 in front and 245/45/18 in the rear.
