Hey my name is Adam L. some of you probally know me from my probe, others don't know me at all.. well i guess ill begin the story of how i came accross my new ride...
I was looking to sell the probe for a little while because i was out of ideas except for boost and i really didnt wanna boost a DD espically with a KLZE motor in it... could only hold about 5-7 pounds on stock internals and i really didnt wanna push my chances... I decided that i might want an integra GSR... plans fell through and someone contacted me at a time that i was planning on keeping the car and offered me $3700... I told them to give me a few days to find a new ride... and if only if i could find something i liked i would be intrested in selling my probe.
Searching on autotrader.com i came across a 1995 mustang 5.0 HO gt vert... in nice shape... ive always been a fan of the mustang and had owned an 84 at one time and i thought this was a chance to get back to the stangs...
only problem was the cash... The owner was about 30 miles away and wanted $4600 which was a fair price for the car even though it had 199k on it... you could barely tell... I went to meet the owner and her husband... a woman in her late 40's early 50's that said she was the second owner of the car and bought it off a 1 year lease with about 15k on it... and she had driven it to and from her job as a teacher in north jersey 150+ mile a day trip... This explained the high milage... I took it for a drive and fell in love... never really wanted a vert too heavy for my taste... and never really intended in an SN-95 body either but i figured id throw the owners an offer... $3800 i didnt wanna low ball but thats all i could offord.. the owner decided that $4100 would be fair... i showed him some other pics of stangs in the same year i was looking at from $3600-$4000 with small problems and lower milage... he said he couldnt go lower then $3900... i told him it was a deal and gave him $100 to hold the car till i could contact the person that wanted to buy my probe the next day... I left and contacted the buyer of my probe who said he would be there the next morning to pick up the car... that night i get a text saying he would have to put it off till the morning after next... i started to worry and called the owner of the stang and told him to hold on another day for me. Then another problem arised the kid that wanted to buy my probes dad said he couldnt pay more then $3000 for my car... so i told him i could do $3400 firm... $3500-$100 i already put on the stang... because if i didnt sell my car i was out $100 anyway... I wake up at 7am the morning the kid was going to come look at my car to a phone call from the stang owners... Aparently someone offered to pay the full price for the mustang $4600 and they would give me my $100 back... Sadly i hung up the phone... and thought about what to do... everything about the whole situation was basically an impulse... I decided to call the woman back and see if there was anything she could do... i told her that the kid was on my way to make the final decision on the probe... The called her husband and called me back stating if im at the're house by 3pm i could have it for the $3900...
The race was on the kid showed up and checked out the probe and decided he wanted it but had no way of getting it back to his house and hadnt brought cash... his father said he would follow me back to their place in north NJ and stop at a bank and get me the $3400 and bring me home... I started doing the math in my head by this time it was already 11:30... an hour each way and time to stop at the bank would leave me at about 1:45pm... it would be cutting it close seeing that it was 45 minutes to the stang owners house from mine. I decided to do it and not waste any time... got in the car and started to drive racing the clock. Got the cash Dropped of the probe and headed toward my house... during this time... i was trying to contact the mustang owners who were not answering my calls... Did i just sell my car and loose out on the one that i was going to buy?!?!???!!! OH NO!!!! finally an answer... everything was fine... the other person didnt stop by early to pick up the mustang or anything. i got the vin # of the mustang and called my insurance company and got a temp card printed up. Stopped at my insurance agency on the way back to my house and grabbed the card. Said thank yous and good byes the new owner of a great car.. And ran and jumped in my moms car by this time it was about 1:55pm... we left for the stang owners house and my mom drove like normal 5 MPH under the speed limmit the whole way... while im having a painic atack in the passanger seat... We arived at the stang owners house at 2:55!!!!! and the car was sitting ready for me... i handed over the cash... the title came my way i threw my tags on it then i jumped back in my moms car to slowly......... slowly...... go to the DMV and try to get there by 4pm when they closed... got to the DMV no lines or anything... IT WAS AWESOME.... went back and grabbed my new ride and finally felt some relief for the day... so now here i am with a new car... What mods will come... what can i build on a college kid's budget and very little mechanical skill... how fast can i go without spending all my money... This is only the begining.
