Ran into this creation at the Burger Ranch a few weeks ago when I was over to see how the window replacement was goingrchayes's 1971 Buick RivieraI've been thinking of building a mini version of the Red Riv this winter.rchayes's 1971 Buick Riviera
This one has be customized a bit but it was mostly orginal, rchayes's 1971 Buick Rivierarchayes's 1971 Buick Riviera a few parts are missing, or incorrect for exact replica of the Red Riv, the seat pattern and colours are different, but it wasn't very rusty and even though the engine was pretty dirty and leaking a bit it was intact and mostly correctrchayes's 1971 Buick Riviera rchayes's 1971 Buick Riviera first thoughts were I'm gonna have remove that continental kit and finding a front bumber could be difficult.rchayes's 1971 Buick Riviera
After a short discussion a deal was struck - traded for two Buick Burgers and a ride in the Red Riv home she went.

Dismantling was the first order of business, time to see just how bad she is.

A bit more rust than expected, the air compressor, brake booster and carb weren't right, but the trans and rear end seem sound, floor pans were real nice. Well time to get the engine and glass out and start replacing some metal, I'll go looking for parts later.

The right side looks real good, unfortunatly the left side had a little mishap - so after a couple weeks of curing it will be more sanding and back to the paint bay (hopfully only for clear coat), well lots of work to do on the interior and engine bay in the mean time, plus I gotta find a front bumper _ maybe Santa will help out.

The Mini Red Riv is a work in progress and will on hold until the Big Red Riv goes into the paint bay, so that the final coat and deatiling on both will be done at the same, check back to she how they coming along -

Thanks alot for checking out my Ciera coupe and Pacers! Yes, ABSOLUTELY PARTY ON! Your Riv is SWEET! Miss mine, though sadly it was not a Boat tail Riv. I had two and 84 that same color and a 96! Both great cars, so I am sure yours is as well! %8s All the way!
