The vinyl side trim, mud flaps and pin stripping were put at the dealership - The Red Riv was Kelly Buick/Opel's showroom display demonstrator car and Ray got a GM Authorised discount of $1,283.84 on 23rd July 1971.

AM/FM stereo radio was a big deal in 1971 infact with the dual front and rear speakers it was second most expensive option next to A/C at $238.92 - you even got a special booklet explaining what FM was and telling you where to tune in.

rchayes's 1971 Buick RivieraA lot new cars boast about long term warranties then don't last much beyond them - In 1971 you got very little warranty coverage and followed the maintenance schedule rchayes's 1971 Buick Rivierarchayes's 1971 Buick Riviera
like Ray did 36 yrs later you get what you spent back hows that for a new set of values and

there is something like this for someone like me to enjoy.
Think the imports build better cars find a good 20yr old one - go to my My Garage to see some more of my 30+ yr old Buicks.

Heres what Road & Track thought of the Riviera back in the day

The Riviera not only had its own brochure but it was also featured on front page and in the 1971 Buick lineup brochure think they may have been a just little a proud of this car?they should have been 36 years later its still great to drive, only my 88 Jaguar handled as well - and didn't have any where near the brute power!!! or public appeal

Thanks alot for checking out my Ciera coupe and Pacers! Yes, ABSOLUTELY PARTY ON! Your Riv is SWEET! Miss mine, though sadly it was not a Boat tail Riv. I had two and 84 that same color and a 96! Both great cars, so I am sure yours is as well! %8s All the way!
