Update:

April 2006: Received the 57 on as a gift from my father-in-law. It had been stored in his barn for the past 30 years! A true barn find.

June 2006: Body came off and the restoration began.

September 2006: Frame is now basted and powdercoated. Also purchased IFS from Jim Meyer Racing; received that and painted it black.

November 2006: Purchased a "new" 383 GM crate engine on ebay. I say "new" because it had not been out of the crate according to the owner. However he failed to mention that he had removed the plastic covering and then left it out in the rain for a short period of time. After it arrive I was a "little" upset. We agreed that the price I paid was not right. And he agreed to sell it to me for $1500 as is. After refunding my money, I sent it to a machinist and he said all it needed was to have the valves and seats cleaned up, $200. Not too bad; especially since I first thought I was totally screwed!

February 2007: Jim Meyer front suspenion is now installed. Picked up the 700r4 tranny. Started to remove the undercoating on body; gave up after three of us spent 5 hours. Body is now headed to be media blasted on 3/10/07.
