Before I bought this car I had a nice 1980 model 323 with a carbied 12a from an early rx7. It went very well, was tidy and reliable, and was all round a good little car but after a while I hungered for more. So, come rego time I sold it cheap to a mate and bought another.

This is the car when I first got it home. As you can see it had been sitting in a paddock neglected for nearly 2 years after going out of rego before I rescued it. But yes, that is an intercooler behind the bumper.

The paint is in immaculate condition...

The interior is spotless

The back. Note the gas tank and 5 stud rear end

And this is the reason I bought it. It may look messy but this quite a nice gas research lpg throttle body mounted to a 12a rotary engine and fed air by a series4 rx7 turbo. While it had had a few problems starting when I had test driven it, it went really hard once running (very difficult to control on gravel when on boost :D), so I foolishly assumed it was a tuning issue. I was about to embark on a clean up of the car and paint to attempt rego, but didn't yet realise that the engine was so worn out it would never start off the key... The car itself under the tattyness was well put together, it was engineered and 100% legal for road use, with rx7 brakes and gearbox, a meaty tailshaft and a hilux diff. It just needed a tidy up - or so I thought.
