Day i drove it home

A lot of people think that 1971 or 1972 was the last year for the muscle car. Emission regulations and safty took a front seat to performance and by 1974 the bumpers were wide by huge and the engines were shells of there former selves. With the cost and mistque asscoiated with the cars from the muscle car era that dream is out of the reach for your adverage under 30 something male youth wanthing the experiance and joy of driving a true high performance machine. In walks the 1973 and 1974 model year cars just a blank canvas of hotrod waiting to be shaped and molded into something above and beyond anything that came off the showroom floor.
This is my 1974 chevy nova. Its different its fun, and most of all it was built for a much smaller dent to my pocket book when compaired to a true mucsle car. When i took possesion of the car it was stock. the only things on the car that were not stock were the aircleaner and the two gauges under the dash. I had my work cut out for me. My nova had a 350 with a 4barrel qjet carb a th350 trans and a open 2.73 gear rear end. It is no wonder people say the muscle car died after 72. Over the span of about two years i took it from bla to bad. Ive had my share of hickups along the way but everytime i fire my "muscle car" up and take it down the road letting it suck as much air as it can at wot and run it through all 5 gears wow it just brings a calming to my soul.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and vibe my car gives. I wish all of you luck on your projects. One more thing dont throw out that old car just because its not on the chopping block at the Barrett Jacksons auction, build it, break it, and run it hard.

Running 650# springs up front and 250#springs out back with kyb gas adjust all around. new poly bushings have been installed in the subframe and control arms. along with a new hodgkis sway bar. the upper control arm pickup points have been re-drilled for the guldstran mod to help camber curve. upgraded the brakes from drums to factory disc setup and just finished removing them for a wilwood 4 piston setup on front.
