Hello, this CD site is devoted to my 1988 Renault 5 amateur rally beater.

Even though the description says "LeCar" the European model is called the 5. Actually, this is a second generation so the correct name is Super 5 or Supercinq. Nice. Now I only need to find what's so super about it.

The car is a heap, but it drives better than it looks. It was bought to become an amateur rally car and that's how it is going to live and finally die. How is it going to die?
-blown engine
or
-broken bodyshell
or
-crashed into a tree
or
-rolled over
or
-burned
(yes, I'll post photos if I come out of the crash/fire alive).

No one knows what might happen in motorsports... And in rally only one thing is certain: the car WILL get damaged.

Just a little jump... the car has already been "tested" on bigger ones. As well as on dirt, in ruts, on mud, on bricks and on sharp stones.

It's a 1100cc OHV 4-cylinder with a 4-speed manual. Bone stock, save for revalved shocks, steering wheel and driver's seat from a more sporty model.

Being a broke rookie I follow the 'upgrade the driver before the car' philosophy. Polishing my skills and gaining experience are crucial to me so I attend practice sessions often or organize them for myself in a safe environment.

I wish these kinds of sports where more populier in america. We call them destruction derbys, and we race in circles in buses. For some reason, racing in compact, zippy, good handling vehicals always goes over our heads... So we hop up our daily drivers and race on public streets, then we act all surprised when the cops impound our cars.
