The Mods

Here are the additions I've made to my PT, starting with a series of photos showing the beltline chrome.

I planned on running the trim to the grille, and then across the top of it, up under the hood.  The initial layout looked odd, so instead I slanted it downward, following the visual curve of the grille chrome from an angle that would be typical for a standing viewer, or a driver in another car.  I really like the way it turned out.

The item you won't LIKELY see in that front photo is the light screen I made.  I made a solar screen covered frame for inside the upper grille.  It helps block light going inside the grille, and highlighting the radiator and braces behind it.  It makes for a cleaner look, but has yet to be noticed by anyone looking at the car in person.  I have one made for the lower grill as well, but it won't go on until I decide how I want to paint the lower grille, what color I'll use, or if I'm going to paint it at all.

My second add were these chrome wire wheel covers.  Cheap cost, cheap look, but any number of times better looking than the expensive OEM covers, AND the OEM chrome wheels IMO.

Here is the chrome resonating exhaust tip.  Chrome...notice a theme?http://video.cardomain.com/Clip.aspx?key=7EDFBD1EA615C702 for the video and audio clip.

Here is a shot of the Shift Styles boot cover, and my later addition of a replacement shift knob.

And my only mechanical/performance add on to date, the K&N drop in air filter.  Saved for last, 'cause it ain't pretty, it's just there!

Back in March 2001 I showed up at work with my brand new beautiful Infernal Red PT Cruiser. One of the guys looked at it and said, "Looks like a hearse." I thought he was nuts. With Bella Morte, I totally get it now. Rated you all 5's.
