Talvez muitos não saibam, mas este motor (denominado "Família" AT (Alto Torque) - e também sua versão com 8 válvulas) foi desenvolvido e fabricado no Brasil, na unidade da cidade de São Carlos, interior do Estado de São Paulo. O motor era fabricado aqui, encaixotado, enviado para a fábrica da SEAT na Espanha e retornava ao Brasil já montado no carro. Também são desenvolvidos aqui outros propulsores para o mercado internacional: 1.4 8V, 1.4 16V e 1.6 16V que se vê em vários carros do grupo VW pelo mundo (SEAT, SKODA, VW...), sobretudo na Europa, são fabricados totalmente no Brasil e exportados.
Perhaps many do not know, but this engine (called “Family” AT (High Tork) - and also its version with 8 valves) it was developed and manufactured in Brazil, in the unit of the city of Saint Carlos, interior of the State of Sao Paulo. Este era o motor do meu ex-Gol 16V turbinado. O visual ficará mais ou menos parecido, porém quero que tenha uma aparência mais "limpa". This age the engine of my previous car (VW Gol 16V turbo). The appearance will be more or less similar, however I want that it has a “more clean” appearance. Translation: in Portuguese the word “Gol” means “Goal” (of the soccer).

Aproveitando que notei que os cabos de vela ainda eram originais de fábrica já instalei os cabos MSD 8,5mm. Using to advantage that I perceived that the spark plugs still were the originals already I installed cables MSD 8,5mm.

Acredito, muito, no potencial deste produto. Conheço as pessoas que representam a marca Militec e já assisti a várias palestras sobre lubrificação de alta-performance, o produto sempre supera as expectativas das pessoas. Usei por muito tempo no motor turbo do meu carro anterior e usarei, sempre, neste também. No Brasil você encontra na Blower Company, em São Paulo/SP (www.blower.com.br). Ah, muito breve, notícias "quentes" sobre o motor, hehehehe. I believe, much, in the potential of this product. Junho/07 - Já foi iniciada a compra das novas peças e equipamentos para a transformação do motor... No máximo em Julho/07 o carro irá para a preparadora. Ops, problemas à vista!! A turbina não cabe por causa do coxim do motor. Ele é muito alto, para instalar o kit que era do Gol seria necessária a criação de um novo suporte para o coxim do motor. E por causa disso o projeto será modificado. O coxim permanecerá intocado. Faremos um novo coletor de escape para a turbina, em aço carbono. E por causa da "verba" curta não teremos mais os 4 bicos suplementares... apenas 1. Mas ganharemos muito em fluxo de gases para acionar a turbina e terá desenho especial para auxiliar na fase aspirada, antes do turbo "soprar". Ops, we sight problems! The turbine does not fit because of the cushion of the engine. It is very high, to install the kit that was of the VW Gol would be necessary the creation of a new support for the cushion of the engine. E because of this the project will be modified. The cushion will remain original. We will make a new collector of exhaust pipe for the turbine, in steel carbon. E because of the short "mount of money" we will not have more 4 suplemental peaks... only 1. But we will earn very in flow of gases to set in motion the turbine and will have special drawing to assist in the aspirated phase, before the turbo "blowing".

Sorte minha que mandei trocarem as bronzinas das bielas, um par delas estava riscado, provavelmente foi uma falha durante a montagem do motor na fábrica. Nunca gostei dessa imagem, mas não tem como não ver a desmontagem. Embora sabendo que é por uma boa causa, é ruim ver quase tudo em cima de uma bancada. Como é fabricado um coletor de escape artesanal, em aço carbono, para a turbina? Tudo começa com a dobragem dos tubos de aço... How is manufactured an artisan collector of exhaustion, in steel carbon, for the turbine? It starts with the folding of the steel pipes...
Vários cortes e dobras são necessários para a moldagem dos tubos... Several cuts and folds are necessary for the molding of the pipes...

Alguns tubos precisam ser divididos em partes pequenas e soldados (solda TIG) para permitir a melhor moldagem, para que a exaustão de gases tenha um ótimo fluxo de saída... Montagem da linha de combustível. Assembly-line fuel.

Nos primeiros testes foi detectado um defeito de fabricação na bomba elétrica. Aproveitei e comprei uma mais forte e confiável, me disseram ser o mesmo modelo utilizado nos Citroën. Montagem quase finalizada, falta apenas alguns detalhes e enviar a pressurização para o polimento. Assembling almost finished, lacking only a few details and send the tubes of pressurisation for the polishing.

Embora o "som" do escapamento estivesse muito bonito preferi incluir mais um abafador, nem que isso me custe um pequeno lag na resposta da turbina, ou alguma restrição no fluxo de gases quando em altas rotações.

Nov/08 - Últimas atualizações : instalação do termopar do pirômetro / aplicação de cromo em partes metálicas / polimento / novas abraçadeiras / cromagem de parafusos

Instalação do termopar do pirômetro eletrônico (com alarme). Até os parafusos da tubagem foram cromados. Installing the thermocouple of the electronic pyrometer (with alarm). Even the bolts of  tubing were chrome.

Set/09 - Só para constar, último "up" que promovi foi visual: esses dois flexíveis em Aeroquip. Agora só virá um downgrade feroz : a originalidade de volta !
