Hi, I'm Norm. I'm 19 and this is my first full blown ground up project car. It is a 1979 Camaro mixed with a little bit of 1978 and 1980. I work 3 jobs to finance this project. I'm currently a Mechanical Engineering student at Wayne State. Feel free to contact me on AIM Shnormo05. Make sure you check out my other pages for my Explorer and S10.

These First three photos are of the Camaro when I first bought it.

These next two photos are of the donor car. Rear axle (4.10:1)Aburn Posi Shnormo05's 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Shnormo05's 1979 Chevrolet Camaro and Interior and transmission. Rear axle was rebuilt with new bearings and this gear ratio (originally a 2.53:1) filled with Richmond GL 6 Gear lube 75w-140 gear lube and the Jegs LSD addative. I ended up buying a LPW racing rear end support diff cover. It pretty much girdles the main caps for the carrier bearings.

These are the pictures of progress. I had put on a whole new rear suspension. Coil over shocks, new drum brakes, new leaf springs, new traction bar, new sway bar and subframe connectors.

SSBC Twin Piston Aluminum Calipers. Slotted and Dimpled Rotors. Redline Synthetic racing wheel bearing grease. Since the whole brake system is new (wheel cylinders, lines, calipers, master cylinder, stainless steel braided brake lines, DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid too.

The color of the engine bay is the color that the main body is going to be. I want to run 2 Tungsten Silver stripes down the middle. Not some vinyl B.S. I'm going to paint the stripes on. Do it once do it right!

Instead of putting the stock A/C controls back, I put switches in for the fuel pump, radiator fan, ignition, and acc. with a push button start.

This is the block I'm using. It's a 350 with a 4 bolt main. It came out of a 79 truck so it has a factory GM steel crank. Right now it's in the machine shop getting bored .040 over and the pan rails are getting ground also so it is a 385 C.I.D. stroker. I went with Dart's Iron heads with a 230 CFM intake with a 2.02" valve. Roller rockers, a small base circle roller cam, Edelbrock 850 CFM carb, dual plane intake, flotech tri Y afterburner headers, MSD ignition, NGK Iridium spark plugs, MSD 8.5mm Spark plug wires, MSD 6AL Ignition box, and mellings high volume oil pump.

10/23/2006 I just ordered a set of new axles.

These are the actual axles, and they do not incluide the logo.
They were supposed to come with press in studs, but they didn't. That pissed me off. I ended up buying Moroso Screw in studs 1/2-20.
