kymadan's 1986 Ford Ranger

Description:

This is my 1986 Ford Ranger STX. It is 4WD with a 2.9L (soon to be 4.0L) V6 with an automatic A4LD transmission (Soon to be 5R55E), and a Borg Warner 1350 transfer case, a 7.5 inch Limited Slip rear with a Dana 28 front axle and 3.73:1 gears. It has a 22.85:1 crawling ratio, and a ramp travel index of 616... not too bad, but I want better!

My future plans for this truck are....

-Front bumper/brush guard w/reciever.....................................(Mocked up plans, Just need material!)
-Reciever mounted 6,000lb winch
-KC Daylighter Halogen long and short range lights
-4"-6" suspension lift
-Cold air intake (Possibly a snorkel, Not sure yet!)
-4.10 gears or 4.56
-31 to 35 inch Tires
-Front and Rear axle swap
-Sliding rear window

Ya that was my plan too. Put the body lift in while i do the mounts, would save me doing all the work later. Another idea i had for mine was finding a newer cab and putting it on, cuz my floor has been patched b4 and i dont really like that idea but we'll see what happens.

Looks like a good start.. The money adds up fast doesn't it? I just finished a 4.0L OHV swap.. The SOHC swap is a lot of work, you'll need basically everything from the donor truck (even steering column). Check out my Ranger and tell me what ya think.
