Nothing new at all, just thought I would post some dirty pictures...

100ish horses of FURY!!!

*update 21/04/2009*

Had a little fun with an empty road and my apexi RSM...

Pretty crap really... 18" wheels and massive brakes sure don't help, and I've got no weight reduction at all right now, would be interesting to try again after removing a lot of crap...

*update 20/04/2009*

Still not much new.. Finally wired up the LED side mirror covers after a year and a half hahahah... Also had to get new lug nuts as the old ones were all faded, and worse, the thread on some of them almost completely stripped. Oh yeah and I did spend most of January and February without the car as I had an accident with a motorcycle :(

But anyway here are some pics taken at the local park last month after I got the car back:

Nothing new at all, just some nice new glamour and detail shots after a wash... enjoy!

Project Blackout continues... Tinted my headlights yesterday, and today added some sexy sexy eyelids from my buddy Bernardo in Mexico. He's got several for sale, so give him a shout at tk421 *at* yarii.com if you want a set!

Anyway, after giving the car a nice wash, some pictures were taken:

And a relative who just happened to be in the same parking lot...

Who ever said the Yaris looked cute? Not anymore!!!

*update 07/01/2008*
Happy New Year everyone!
I celebrated by removing my back seat :D Easiest way to lose 50lb!
rarely ever have anyone back there, so... The subwoofer shelf is also now removable, I hacked up a plain old computer molex connector, so it's quite convenient!

Nothing major, just went a bit wild with some flat black spraypaint and the front of my car.

I realize that the black emblem kinda clashes, but it will look more balanced after I tint the headlights (photoshop picture below:)

Rear drum brakes have been swapped for discs! There's a brake manufacturer here who offers a conversion kit which is more or less plug and play and reversible. Results are great, it looks good, and it brakes a lot better!

Excuse the dirty and dented car, need a trip to the bodyshop soon, stupid motorbike ran into when doing an illegal U-turn...

*update 17/10/2007*
Wow, I really haven't done much to the car recently, that's just not right!
Anyway, about a month ago I had an unfortunate encounter with a huge rock in the middle of the road. Couldn't avoid it, and heard a sickening crunch from under the car. Turns out it put a big dent in my exhaust pipe:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

So, I tried to get the insurance to cover it but they were reluctant due to the fact the car is lowered (the price of beauty...). I then found a local exhaust manufacturer who has an aftermarket midpipe and exhaust, and ended up getting that:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

It's good stuff, mandrel-bent stainless steel, slightly larger piping, high flow catalyzers and resonator, and a nice looking exhaust tip. Here's the outside views:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

I really really like the sound of this. The HKS exhaust was obnoxiously loud (got complaints from the neighbors a few times...), this one is far quieter, but has a nice tone. here's a little video:

On the road (fast forward to about 2:55 for full throttle):

Not bad, eh?

Anyway, I'm very pleased with the results! If any Yaris owners out there are interested, in these exhausts, let me know!

Oh and one more thing... turbo's coming soon... very soon... :D

*update 24/05/2007*
Nothing new to report, but took a very nice picture today:

I got this thing months ago, but only got it installed yesterday. Ladies and gentlemen, a TWM short shifter now lives in my car.

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

First impressions are great, shifts feel so much better than the old shifter, although because of the reduced leverage, it's quite a bit harder to push it into gears. Nevermind, I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of getting used to it!

*update 03/03/2007*
Well due to some childish idiots with no respect for others, I've decided to turn off guestbooks and comments. So long, suckers.

*update 09/03/2007*

A bit of an experiment today, setting up an "overtake cam" to assist in seeing what's happening on the far side of the car, outside of the driver's field of vision when blocked by traffic.

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

It's just a cheap-ass CMOS camera hooked up to a spare input on my head unit:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

I took this picture while driving (remember, we drive on the left over here!)

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

Like a super Playstation!
It's a crappy little camera so the resolution is not great, but it's a good proof-of-concept.

Oh and power-wise, the camera needs 9V, so I tucked away a little inverter in the glovebox, not pretty, but it works until I can find some sort of DC-DC transformer.

Nothing new today, but the car was washed, the sun was out, and pictures were taken!

Ordered and received a leather shift and handbrake boot kit from Redline Goods . It's meant for the xA/xB, but does also fit the Yaris like a (leather) glove. Excellent top-quality Italian leather at very affordable prices. I have yet to put on the handbrake boot as I lack a tool to remove the center console, but here is the shifter boot:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

Sexy, isn't it?

*update 01/02/2007*

Did this some time ago, but could not post the picture due to crappy internet access over here...

Anyway here's a nice photo of the rear of the car, pimping out my favorite forum in style :)

*update 17/01/2007*

Just a couple of videos I took some time ago, uploaded to YouTube:

Sound of exhaust when driving

Quick street race vs Vios Turbo
(Three heavy people in the car at the time, so it was a little slow!)

*update 21/12/2006*

Got my permanent (white) plates! Also, took the time to remove the "Yaris" and "E" badges. There's two more at the bottom but they are really thin and sticky, gonna be hard to remove them...

Tiny new mod, changed the lighting for the AC controls to red, instead of the original green:

Brand new Yaris didn't stay stock for long...

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

It did come with an optional Kenstyle lip and spoiler kit, which is not very common here.

Exterior mods first, some nice rims:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

Works Emotion CR Kai in 18x7.5, 42mm offset, with Falken FK452s in 215/35R18

Suspension lowered by Tein Super Compact coilovers, with a drop of about 1.5"

Front lip, side skirts and roof spoiler factory-supplied.

At the rear, we have the JDM-style RS round LED light assembly and rear bumper. You can also see the business end of the HKS HiPower exhaust:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

You can also see the reverse camera fixed on the license plate mount. (more on that later)

Front disc brakes also upgraded with e'spec 4-pot calipers and vented discs:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

In the engine bay, truthfully not a lot done, just a grounding kit, intake charger, oil catch tank, breather tank, and Simota-based intake, as well as a Cusco strut bar:

Here's a shot with the doors open, before interior upgrades were all done:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

The cockpit has been through some big changes! Most noticeable are the Bride Euro-II style semi-bucket seats, in red of course:

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

Steering wheel by Momo, as well as shift knob and pedal covers.

There's a lot of visual information (and toys) for the driver, courtesy of 3 gauge pods (oil pressure, water temp and air/fuel ratio), as well as a black edition Apexi Rev/Speed Meter, the Tein EDFC damping control for the shocks, as well as an Apexi turbo timer (precursor of things to come?)

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

Sound is handled by a Pioneer AVHP6850DVD dual-DIN head unit, to which are attached the iPod adapter, the reverse camera shown above, as well as the AVG-VDP1 Vehicle Dynamics Processor, essentially lateral and longitudinal accelererometers coupled with a GPS antenna to off lots of information such as lateral , acceleration and braking G-forces, on the fly horsepower and torque calculations, as well as tachometer, speedometer, and other functions, in a nice graphical interface.

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

There are two Aczon 300W amplifiers under the seats, nothing fancy, but enough to drive 4x Boston Acoustics S60 speakers with tweeters, and a 10" subwoofer mounted on the rear trunk floor

eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris eTiMaGo2's 2006 Toyota Yaris

And that's about it for now! From a cheap econobox to a very fun to drive, sporty compact racer... Next in line would be more power under the hood ;) Don't forget to rank me!

hey man, I like your car. I just bought S limited 3 weeks ago and I want to custom it a bit. I don't know any custom shop or rims or parts in Bangkok at all. Can you give me a few places that you know? That would be a big help! I have a black S limited. I was thinking also putting 2 white racing stripe also. Anyway, help me out. Thanks!
