Updates from Mopar Atlantic Nationals. Raceway Park Englishtown, NJ
The weather Saturday was amazing. Sunday washed out after the 2nd time trial. The Duster ran consistent 9.80's. We had not tested at all this year since our 2 track rentals were also rained out. The Duster seems ready to make a run at the 9.60's !!! All the bugs seem to be worked out and the new upgrades performed great. We are down for a Nostalgia race this coming weekend 5/24/08 at Lebanon Valley Dragway in NY. Here are some highlight pics from the 2008 Mopar Atlantic Nationals. Videos will be up very soon.

1/10/2008 Happy New Year Everyone
Be on the lookout for the Duster on TV. We got the callback from Englishtown and we are in for Pinks All Out which is at Raceway Park Englishtown,NJ July 25-26 2008. Hopefully some of you can make it for support. Stop by, say Hi and wish us luck.

We made a few changes to the Duster in the last 2 weeks. The Weld ProStars are gone and now the Duster sports Weld AlumaStar 2.0's If you're not familiar with those rims, here is a pic.

A cold day for racing. Headed out to ATCO Raceway in New Jersey for the last runs of the year. Another impressive outting considering the 35 degree temps. This was the only run of the day for us. Emilio heard an unfamiliar sound in 2nd gear and didn't want to take any chances. The Duster clicked off a 9.81 off the trailer on this run. All was not for waste. The whole gang was out for this day. Emilio, Larry, Brian, The Minieri Brothers, and Actionange all posted great ET's.

Mopars at Lebanon Valley Dragway. Kind of a crazy day for us. We were fighting what we thought was an ignition problem. The Duster would hiccup on the 2/3 shift then take off. Pretty funny actually when the tower showed 12 second ET's at 130+. So we had no idea what it would run for 1st round so we took a guess. After cleaning out what seemed to resemble a piece of crystal from the front squirter 1st round ended in a loss but ran a 9.98 on the brakes. All is good again. Enjoy the new pics.

The Story
5 years of cutting, welding, fabricating, painting, painting, and more painting, Emilio and friend Rich Yale had completed what you had seen in the pics. Emilio with his lightning fast shifting of a 5-speed, sent "The Power" to an all-time best ET of 9.71 @ 140.26MPH. No bottle, blower, or turbo here. This was done on the motor and stepping the clutch. Remember we're talking about a 340 smallblock!! In the early spring of 2006, The K-frame went bye bye and in went the Reilly Motorsports AlterKtion front end with rack and pinion steering. It’s an original 1970 Duster 4 speed car (H-code). Boyds steering wheel. 10 point cage. Color is Q-code electric blue (3 gallons worth) with purple, yellow, and magenta graphics all under 6 coats of urethane clear. Completely detailed engine compartment, undercarriage, and trunk. Car is all steel with fiberglass bumpers and hood. Everything works including windows, all lights and turn signals. Motor is a 393 cubic inch small block with aluminum heads by Joey Arrington (builder of NASCAR Truck Motors). Custom intake manifold, roller cam and rockers. Titanium retainers and Ross Pistons. Holley 1050 Dominator carb. Electric water pump and fan. MSD 7al 2 ignition with 2 step. Custom made sheet metal Moroso valve covers. Motor makes over 700 hp shifting at 7500 RPM. Manual transmission is a Liberty 5 speed with a Lakewood steel bell housing. 11 inch adjustable long style clutch with 7lb aluminum flywheel. Shifter is a Long with V-gate and line lock. Mark Williams drive shaft. Rear is a shortened Dana 60 with 35 spline Strange axles with spool and 4.56 gears. Rear suspension is a 3-link with 12 way adjustable coilovers. 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes. Fuel delivered with BG 280 fuel pump with 12 gallon fuel cell in trunk. 4 inch Flowmaster exhaust. Wheels are Weld Racing Pro Stars. 15 x 3.5 fronts with Moroso DS2 tires. Rears are 15 x 12 with Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros 29 x 15.50. Also have 15 x 12 slicks for racing. Consistent National show winner. Mopar Atlantic Nationals Prostreet 1999, 2000, 2001 and heavy modified 2002, 2003, 2004 champion. The Duster was purchased in 1989 and he'll tell you, "He had the car before he had his wife, and will have the car after his wife. Car was sold within CT in the summer of 2004 and was bought back buy Emilio late that same winter. The temporary new owner could not get the car to go better than 11.20's. After getting the car back home, Emilio just did the usual check up and fluid change and went to Lebanon Valley in the spring of 2005 and clocked a 10.05 off the trailer. Who says drivers don't make a difference.
