10/15/2009 Mopars At Lebanon Valley Recap and new DrJay Video
Mopars at Lebanon Valley Dragway September 26th, 2009. Awesome day. DrJay and the Swinger ran consistent all day capping it off with an all time best 10.81. Emilio and the Duster shocked everyone putting together a string of sub 9.70 runs and finally posting an all time best 9.63!!!! DrJay made this one using Pinnacle Studio and of course added a killer soundtrack. This time, enjoy the sounds of Queen "One Vision"

7/24/2009 One year to the day
Today marks the anniversary of our Pinks All Out Adventure at Englishtown Raceway Park. Quite possibly to greatest day of my life and the friends and family that we shared the victory with just added to the best experience ever. Thanks again to everyone that was part of the day and all the members that posted through here with their own experiences from the event. A few of you have already emailed me with a reminder and I just wanted to thank you guys for remembering. Here is a link to the video that Drjay had put together which summed up the whole weekend in a neat 7 minute video production. It still feels like it all happened yesterday.

A few quick updates. I have 2 videos that Drjay put together from the Mopars at Englishtown event. Part 1 is a video recap of racing at Englishtown Raceway park for the 2009 Mopar event May 16th and 17th. After a 2 year absence DrJay brought out the Swinger and got his first 10 second slip. The Duster put together a string of 9.68's. Tested the new "No Joke" Six Pack hood and clicked off a 9.74. Lost in the 2nd round both days but was a great weekend. Part 2 is the original raw and uncut video footage from Englishtown Raceway park for the 2009 Mopar event May 16th and 17th.

A little late with my updates. Mopars at Englishtown was a great time as always. Who pays these weathermen to say what they do? Not a drop of rain all weekend and temps in the 60's both Saturday and Sunday. Made it to 2nd round both days. Saturday we clicked off a string of 9.80's. Sunday off came the exhaust and it ran 9.68, 9.68, 9.69 and finally a 9.74 testing the new Sixpack Hood. Here is a quick collection of videos of 3 runs. Another crazy video is on the way as DrJay is hard at work compiling all the video and pictures to come up with another crazy video Production.

Got a few surprises today. Opened my Mopar Collectors Guide Magazine and on page 9 was the event flyer for our big Mopar event at Englishtown this upcoming May. Well, the Duster is featured in the flyer. Then I notice that my Englishtown flyer is also in the mail and BAM!!! Same thing. So the Duster is getting some nice print to start the 2009 season. Can't wait. Our first NENDRA event is 5/2 at Lebanon Valley Dragway. That will be sort of our test event for the Mopar Nationals at Englishtown. Here is a scan of the flyer. Here they are. The 3 videos of the 2008 Race Year in review. My brother in Law DrJay worked on producing these for over 2 weeks. Part 1 is Pinks All Out, Part 2 is 1320x, and Part 3 is Mopars at Island Dragway. Prepare for some great footage some never before seen and killer soundtracks to go along with our 2008 Drag Racing Season.

Part 2 1320x / Lebanon Valley Dragway
Part 3 Mopar At The Patch / Island Dragway

A few cool updates. My Brother in Law has produced a series of 3 movies titled the 2008 Year in Review covering the 3 major events that we attended. Those would be Pinks All Out, 1320x, and Mopars at Island Dragway known as Mopars at the patch. He took all the photos and videos that were sent in or linked to from local and online friends and cut together some great videos. Those will be uploaded over the weekend and will post the links as soon as they become available.
The other big news is that he along with 2 others have created a Nostalgia Drag Racing Association. You can view the website at www.nendra.com (North East Nostalgia Drag Racing Association). Of course I have joined. I even finished painting a custom 6 pack hood to fit the rules. We have a 9 event series at Lebanon Valley Dragway.

Other than that, last night we put together our 2009 race schedule. Aside from the 9 NENDRA events we will be attending Mopars at Englishtown in May, another 1320x event at Lebanon in August, the Mopar event at Epping NH in September , and finally the Mopar events at Lebanon Valley and Island Dragway in October. It is going to be a great year.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's to everyone. The Pinks All Out experience is one we'll never forget and also one that everyone seems to really enjoy. Apparently the Englishtown episode aired last night and the phone all morning is ringing with more war stories of the incredible weekend. So, I decided to do a quick search to see if there are any new videos posted online from the event. Score!! Youtube member zlumlord has some great videos. Here are 2 great ones that show every car number from 1-100 from Saturday's 1st round runs. Enjoy!

Sorry we haven't had many updates lately. This past weekend we attended the rescheduled Mopars at the Patch at Island Dragway in Great Meadows New Jersey. All everyone needs to know is...........
We did it!!!! 9.69 followed by a 9.67. Made it to the Semi Finals in the Pro Category and lost to the eventual winner. More info to follow. I don't have the pics and vids uploaded yet. This is what we have been working so hard to achieve. Removing the exhaust and another slight clutch adjustment is what finally put the Duster over the top. Stay tuned.

2nd is to check out this new event that is picking up some serious steam. 1320x. Check out the Video of the event overview. There is a quick blip of the Duster. And a story below of our experience at the 1320x event at Lebanon Valley Dragway.
1320x Lebanon Valley Dragway Video Overview

Lebanon Valley Dragway 1320x event was awesome. We came home with 2 Grudge Match kill stickers and some cash from a DGRE vs DrJay side bet. The Duster ran a 9.72 at 138 to settle a 25 year local rivalry with GTO Jim Lafond. Jims GTO ran a quicker 9.71 during Saturday testing so the GTO was quicker. But, the Duster ran the number when it counted during the Grudge Eliminations. Forgot to mention that the GTO is a 572ci Big Block Chevy. Remember the Duster is an all motor 393ci small block. On one hand GTO Jim is quicker and we'll give him that. But would you brag about having that many cubes and only be .01 faster? Also made it to the final 4 in the Pro/Non Electronics Bracket. Got treed .004 by the 1971 Duster driver Denny Boyle to end a great weekend. Got a nice payout for making it to the Semis. I have lots of pics and videos to be posted. Thanks to the Pritchett Brothers and Charles(formerly of Pinks) for putting together a great new style of racing event. Be sure to check out 1320x.com to learn about this great new series of Fast Cars and Rock and Roll.

Thanks everyone for the letters, video and picture links.
If anyone has any photos or videos from the event, I will be happy to post the link.

Updates from Mopar Atlantic Nationals. Raceway Park Englishtown, NJ
The weather Saturday was amazing. Sunday washed out after the 2nd time trial. The Duster ran consistent 9.80's. We had not tested at all this year since our 2 track rentals were also rained out. The Duster seems ready to make a run at the 9.60's !!! All the bugs seem to be worked out and the new upgrades performed great. We are down for a Nostalgia race this coming weekend 5/24/08 at Lebanon Valley Dragway in NY. Here are some highlight pics from the 2008 Mopar Atlantic Nationals. Videos will be up very soon.

A cold day for racing. Headed out to ATCO Raceway in New Jersey for the last runs of the year. Another impressive outting considering the 35 degree temps. This was the only run of the day for us. Emilio heard an unfamiliar sound in 2nd gear and didn't want to take any chances. The Duster clicked off a 9.81 off the trailer on this run. All was not for waste. The whole gang was out for this day. Emilio, Larry, Brian, The Minieri Brothers, and Actionange all posted great ET's.

Mopars at Lebanon Valley Dragway. Kind of a crazy day for us. We were fighting what we thought was an ignition problem. The Duster would hiccup on the 2/3 shift then take off. Pretty funny actually when the tower showed 12 second ET's at 130+. So we had no idea what it would run for 1st round so we took a guess. After cleaning out what seemed to resemble a piece of crystal from the front squirter 1st round ended in a loss but ran a 9.98 on the brakes. All is good again. Enjoy the new pics.

The Story
5 years of cutting, welding, fabricating, painting, painting, and more painting, Emilio and friend Rich Yale had completed what you had seen in the pics. Emilio with his lightning fast shifting of a 5-speed, sent "The Power" to an all-time best ET of 9.67 (10/26/2008). No bottle, blower, or turbo here. This was done on the motor and stepping the clutch. Remember we're talking about a 340 smallblock!! In the early spring of 2006, The K-frame went bye bye and in went the Reilly Motorsports AlterKtion front end with rack and pinion steering. It’s an original 1970 Duster 4 speed car (H-code). Boyds steering wheel. 10 point cage. Color is Q-code electric blue (3 gallons worth) with purple, yellow, and magenta graphics all under 6 coats of urethane clear. Completely detailed engine compartment, undercarriage, and trunk. Car is all steel with fiberglass bumpers and hood. Everything works including windows, all lights and turn signals. Motor is a 393 cubic inch small block with aluminum heads by Joey Arrington (builder of NASCAR Truck Motors). Custom intake manifold, roller cam and rockers. Titanium retainers and Ross Pistons. Holley 1050 Dominator carb. Electric water pump and fan. MSD 7al 2 ignition with 2 step. Custom made sheet metal Moroso valve covers. Motor makes over 700 hp shifting at 7500 RPM. Manual transmission was a Liberty 5 speed (now a GForce GF5-r) with a Lakewood steel bell housing. 11 inch adjustable long style clutch with 7lb aluminum flywheel. Shifter is a Long with V-gate and line lock. Mark Williams drive shaft. Rear is a shortened Dana 60 with 35 spline Strange axles with spool and 4.56 gears. Rear suspension is a 3-link with 12 way adjustable coilovers. 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes. Fuel delivered with BG 280 fuel pump with 12 gallon fuel cell in trunk. 4 inch Flowmaster exhaust. Wheels werw Weld Racing Pro Stars (now AlumaStar 2.0). 15 x 3.5 fronts with Moroso DS2 tires. Rears are 15 x 12 with Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros 29 x 15.50. Also have 15 x 10.5w slicks for racing. Consistent National show winner. Mopar Atlantic Nationals Prostreet 1999, 2000, 2001 and heavy modified 2002, 2003, 2004 champion. And now the 2008 Pinks All Out Raceway Park Winner. The Duster was purchased in 1989 and he'll tell you, "He had the car before he had his wife, and will have the car after his wife. Car was sold within CT in the summer of 2004 and was bought back buy Emilio late that same winter. The temporary new owner could not get the car to go better than 11.20's. After getting the car back home, Emilio just did the usual check up and fluid change and went to Lebanon Valley in the spring of 2005 and clocked a 10.05 off the trailer. Who says drivers don't make a difference.
